I think everyone has struggled with this. I used two hand too, both of mine, one in the wheel arch and the other stretched around into the engine bay

I have an even better way. I get my wife to do it while I sit in my lawn chair and read car mags with a cold brew in my hand.

Just wanted to say I fitted one of these K&N 33-2252 filters to my Exige S.
Certainly seems to have improved throttle response, but mainly and what I wanted is I can hear the scream of the supercharger over the exhaust.

Thanks for the info guys.

I went through this same pain yesterday, before I found this thread It took me good 40mins to align the airbox, and all that for just checking out things, not replacing anything. I managed to close it with my left hand aligning the airbox through the engine bay and at the same time using my right hand pushes the lid and lock the clip via the wheel arch. My wife popped out and asked me why am I hugging the car.. hahah. Anyway. now that I found this thread I think I will need to do this again to make sure I have put in the airfilter correctly, I didn't realise there was a round edge... Hopefully this time round will be quicker.

I've done it twice now and it took me all of 2 minutes to get the airbox shut both times.

I think the key is getting the filter in the box, making sure the outboard clips are not causing any interference, getting the inboard hinge points aligned, and then doing a final check of air filter positioning, being careful not to lose alignment on the inboard clips.

This thread makes me worry that it was TOO easy & I must have done something wrong, but quadruple checked, and yup, it was that easy.
