Hmm didn't see this thread before.

At one of the future track events,I'll try to get some audio samples from some of the Elises/Exiges at TWS. My audio has an external mike and a very loud gain. Unlike semi-standing starts the cars will be in 3rd gear with an exit speed >65mph CCW or 20mph faster CW. The banked oval/high speed main straight resonates sound back thru the stands/paddock area like an amphitheater. Hope not too many Z06's show up to drown out everything else.

I should have done this back in June when there was a variety of Von Hep,Arqrays,Stage II's on parade.

This is good information...

There are a ton of posts about exhaust...I am trying to catch up.

What is the recommend unit:

Retaining the double tips with no mods through the stock hole
Increase power
No codes

Thanks.

Jeff

No such thing. You're talking about +/- a couple of horsepower, so it's really subjective.

1. Find the through-the-diffuser exhaust you like the sound of.
Quieter= Arqray Twin, 2bular. Louder= Stage II, Quicksilver.2. Green filter and snorkel removal. Most others lie between.

These mods bring the aural character up to the rest of the car, but have a minimal effect on power. Better throttle response perhaps. Your perceived results may vary.

If you want to achieve the maximum power/drivability gain, send your ECU to Charlie (Sector 111 reflash) or PES.

Yes, I purchased the Quicksilver Titanium system, which was beautiful and sounded wonderful, but literally fell apart in well under a year. ONe of the main welds broke after about three months, which I paid to have repaired, plus exhaust taken off and back on car. Then, also well within a year, the insides started coming loose. I inquired about getting it replaced, and Quicksilver (in England) completely jacked me around, first saying they had had some problems with welds on early versions of the Ti system, but since I fixed it myself, they didn't feel the necessity to do anything for me. Then, they said that because I took the car on a track, they weren't going to stand behind it.

The dealer (in the US) finally agreed to give me my money back, but it took alot of doing and I was out about $200 (to take it off, fix it and put it back on) plus shipping. Quicksilver ... not!

Sound clip request

Larini Race exhaust ideally w/o cat, but regardless:
one clip with resonator in place (in car and driveby)

one clip with resonator removed (in car and driveby)

Purrty please! I know a couple of you UK guys have them installed already. Larini told me. :b So post your video/audio clips! Inquiring minds need to know, especially before laying out $1200.

Thx!
