I have this intake. Very good quality and no check engine light (mil) after 10k. Do not think it adds any hp but doesn't seem to take away either. The sound is great however and although different than a louder exhaust, the intake is only load when you get on it. Awsome on the high cam. Hope this helps.

What do you mean by "no check engine light after 10k" ? Can you explain this and what causes it?

Also, you think you could put up some audio or video of the noise you're talking about? (assuming it could be captured, and doesn't have to be experienced in person.)

I've had the FF intake for quite some time now. CEL came on once after I had had it a while, went away after a day or so. Seems like it's pretty normal for aftermarket intakes to trip a CEL now and then, it's no big deal.

The intake sounds great; I question their power gains based on what others have reported about the ECU learning feature.

I question power gains with any air-restriction mod that doesn't have tuning! FF is no different.

You will gain 8-12 horsepower on an Elise if you dyno it right after installing (any) intake.

The car will be running really lean (enough to trip the CEL sometimes) until the computer adapts.

GTsRasta where are you? I'm sure he could point to a few threads that Celica owners have reported this problem. It's been beaten to death here also.

General consensus: Intake adds no power to the Elise over time (Roadrunner dyno'd a 10 hp decrease).

I'm in the middle of road testing my header right now to see if the ECU will adjust for this type of mod (it doesn't interfere with the air metering sensor so I'm hoping it'll retain it's gains).
