How does it smell like with De-cat? Coated?

Yeah wonder how does it smell like.
I want De-cat but my car is DD so want to be livable even most of the time with a passenger.

And should the pipe be heat coated or wrapped?(know wrap isn't good)
because cats like Larini or any other manufacturer don't usually have their cat or de-cat coated do they expect we put back on that ugly U-bend heat shield?

Mine smells like fresh raspberries, with a hint of unburnt fuel.

Smells like raw gas, like in the good old days. Only noticeable inside a garage or stopped in traffic. I did it to mine as an almost exclusive track car. As a DD there might be a morality issue, you know, killing us all.

Think of it this way: you're causing less global warming by emitting less CO2.

Toxic nitric oxide? meh... it's those colorless gasses you REALLY have to worry about, not the brown ones. You're racist. Carbon monoxide? Hemoglobin LOVES that ****!

As the car doesn't have air injection, it's unlikely you'll notice any fumes at all so long as you leave the EVAP system in place.

Decatted cars that do have air injection produce some "interesting" fumes on start up when the system is running. Of course, you can always rip that out, too.

Somebody proposed a similar system on 1addicts, only involving an intercooler... I don't go to 1addicts anymore.

1addicts? brings back ma old memories in bimmerpost. Used to love the M3 until 335 and M3 was everywhere here (Vancouver BC) I actually still know lots more DIYs on the M3 than my lotus now....shame

anyways, looks like going for the more restrictive/expensive sport cats...
