has anyone recorded a soundclip of a S Clubsport? I have done a bunch of searches and can't find anything... I'm curious to hear one fitted on a SC car...

I started to remove all of the items, diffuser, access panel, etc. but am having a hell of a time getting the original exhaust out. The drivers side hanger must be very tight and I cant budge this thing to get it out.

So as I have read in a few places you either need to remove the drivers side U heat shield or the wheel to get your hands up inside to loosen the hanger. It's like that rubber hanger has it's death grip on it.

Are these the only options with this? Any tricks here?

Hmmm I hope mine won't give me issues like that... Wear gloves and take it all apart... the easier it is to get to, the easier it will come out. I'd probably try removing the wheel first.

Check the Video Page at Larini for some of their latest sound clips of their exhausts: Click-click

You'll need to scroll down to see the Lotus exhausts clips.

The Sport is just a bit quieter. The tone is the same though - deep and aggressive.

You really must loosen those four bolts on the driver side. You may need to remove the rear driver wheel to gain better access to these bolts. Use plenty of WD40 on the muffler clamp and give it time to penetrate the connection. Don't be afraid to take a rubber mallet to the stock muffler to persuade it a bit...

I think that's what needs to happen...I did spray it with wd40 and used the rubber mallet with anger at the end. Hopefully getting access via wheel will do the trick to loosen up the hanger. Thanks for the input!

I do have one other question. The stock exhaust has the tip welded to the muffler to support it. Does this exhaust have anything to support the tip besides just the clamp?

Well...finally got the exhaust in. I ended up just removing the diver side hanger and it took two of us to muscle out the stock unit. The stock exhaust is so big it's crazy. I put the clubsport in and started it but have not driven the car due to weather. It is much deeper and mature sounding but will need to spend time driving before I say much more about throttle response, feel, sound, etc.

I will say removal of the stock unit sucked and took quite a bit of time for those going to diy. Install was a snap in comparison

We love our ClubSport S.

sadly, we are mothballing ours tonite til the spring; the abonibable snow-witch is on the way.

since we just bought the car in June, this is the first time we will put it away for the winter; bummer.

last day to terrorize the streets!

enjoy your new exhaust Spectre, we sure do.

I'm considering this exhaust. I'd like a more aggressive sounding exhaust than stock. I heard the stage 2 is way too loud. I can't go too loud b/c I don't want to wake up my neighbors when I leave for work in the morning (usually 7am or earlier).

Hope to find a local that has it to see how it sounds.

The Larini SC 'Sport' may be a better option for you as it is louder than stock but slightly quieter than the Clubsport which has the volume (but not the drone) of the Stage 2.

Ok, weather broke and roads were fine so I went for a 45min. drive (then started snowing so I called it short).

At idle it has a nice deep pur, to me it feels a hair sluggish from 1-3k over stock muffler but seems to really catch up and seems quicker from 4-8,000rpm. The tone on build to 8,000 gets pretty darn load and beautiful at the same time...it literally gave me chills as it has a personality that seems to fit the car now. The interior does vibrate quite a bit more on hard acceleration or down shifts and has some pops - burbles on shift or down shift. At constant speed it does not drone like stage ll and has a nice even hum so it will be fine on trips. With that being said, I would not recommend this is exhaust if you use your car as a daily driver.

I took stock video at idle/rpm bursts so I will do the same for the clubsport and do an in car video when the weather breaks again. I will need to live with it a bit more but feel like the exhaust is pretty darn mean sounding.

Thx for the update and comments. Remember to let your car relearn the 'new' conditions created by the exhaust. Letting it idle for a few minutes when you first start it and before you shut it off will help the ECU relearn proper idle. Hammering the car immediately after installing the system may not be representative of the performance after a few hundred miles.

The Larini SC Sport is really suited for those who want something less aggressive than the Clubsport and the 8" is for the gentleman/gentlelady racers out there.

Regardless of your need, we've got you covered with Larini. And they are all in stock.

I want something as aggressive as the S Clubsport, but, I don't want to spend $400 to go to Laguna and have them tell me that I can't go on track because I'm too loud. I don't like lifting through turn 5 either. I also don't like the 8" look.

So either you don't go to Laguna Seca or you join the Single Tip Club...

SHOOT... I had a feeling someone was going to say that... Just hoped it wasn't going to be you.. I am okay with the single tip club, but like it coming out at an angle and not straight out like the 8".

Does anyone have a shot of the rear of the car that shows clubsport s exhaust tip location when installed?
