A few things noticed or confirmed with larini clubsport s after more driving today. Down low punch is less than stock, you can now feel cam switch over...with stock its very smooth. After cam switch it is frantically quicker than stock. I cant say it gives you anything more as you lose than make up the difference but its clearly a different driving experience.

Stock, quick down low and smooth cam switch.
Clubsport, not as quick to 3500 or 4000rpm but after that screams with a distinct cam switch over on acceleration.

I'm curious now what the header or sport cat would do to the acceleration characteristics...would it smooth things out? Would it allow down low power to be more present or just emphasize everything more? Those that have done a full setup what do you feel or experience?

Interesting... this will affect my decision. You didn't get a retune after you got the exhaust right? Any video clips?

No retune I guess if you go header, sport cat, exhaust you should get a retune. Thats why I was asking about it above. I did not get video yet but plan to next break in weather. The sound of the exhaust is awesome but Im not sold on the driving experience yet as the stock setup was so fluid. If the other components do that I would be extremely happy if the performance works out. But if you figure $700 exhaust, sport cat $500, header $1300 and gotham $1000 + dyno time your at $4000 for roughly 30 hp. At this point, without knowing how the driving experience will be Im apprehensive on spending that money.

video

Well...it said snow today but looked sunny so I took a video. Let me say the flip first generation does not do well with certain sound levels nor capture the true sound (it clips) on low frequency, burlbs or pops. Plus, since it doesn't have a camera mount ability its really between the passenger harness holes. So enjoy dash cam and a few snippets.

Anyway, a new video setup is in the works but at least you can see or hear some of it. Near the end I do a 4th pull and see a huge hawk so slow down but let me say it really flew out of know where and tried it's hardest to pull up the road kill before it barely missed the car.

Thanks! Yeah, that's quite expensive to be able to get only 30hp.

Correct, you want to get a retune if you do anything more aggressive than a cat back. How many miles on your car since you added the exhaust. It will take some time for your ECU to readjust to the new conditions.

If you want to maintain/increase power check out our ProAlloy Chargecooler. We've just released it. This is a smart foundation for you to safely build and enjoy additional power upgrades on your Exige.

I have put about 200 miles on since install.

I guess the change in acceleration / smoothness has thrown me off a little...Not as quick up 3500 or 4000 then the cam change feel. Stock is quicker to 4000 than smoother at cam change.

A few questions:
Does the clubsport s make more hp?
Does a sport cat or header smooth it out or change that? Driving Impression?

Well I have put quite a few miles on it since this post. Here is my take.

Initially I thought the low end rpm to 3k was a hair sluggish as opposed to stock and still feel that way. It is quicker though from that point to cutoff than stock. I feel the cam switch point more but that is because it is breathing better along with hearing the intake a bit more. It pops and makes all good noises. As far as drone I only hear a bit at 80 or 85 in 6th gear and it's not nearly as bad as the stage 2. It is loud and can get old unless you wear ear plugs on long drives. It will make things in your interior rattle but that can easily be fixed with foam. I have had a bunch of people pm me and tell me they love the sound and I am happy with the sound, it fits the car. So all in all I am happy with the exhaust and the performance. The one goofy thing that is not documented is that the tip is very long and does not look stock at all, so I had mine shortened to look stock. The good and bad with that is that it makes it louder and more snarly.
