Presenting the very first full production DD Performance Research Intake Manifold - I hope you all like it..

Some pictures to show throttle body mounting and the IAC / Throttle Cable mount setup. Note that the throttle linkage and IAC are mounted under the plenum which gives a nice clean appearance to the installation.

Looks fantastic! When will you have final specs/price available? Would there be some benefit to fitting this to an otherwise stock motor (no re-flash), or is it better to wait to do the full CAI/inlet manifold/exhaust manifold/reflash?

Looks good. Few questions:

1. When will specs, dyno results, price be finalized w/stock TB?

2. Any drawback to using the Infiniti TB? Cost?

3. I can't get the dyno sheets to show up; is this true for only me??

4. I notices "DD" on the piece. This allows me to ask: "Hey, can I use that for a Daily Driver?"

sorry.....

thx

Price is $1400 retail. Mind you this is the Celica Version - the Lotus version will have a slightly different runner profile designed to allow it to clear the firewall, with the bonus of better top end performance than the Celica manifold when combined with cams, head porting, etc.

1 - The stock TB sucks. We have no plans to design around it.

2 - No drawbacks - I have picked up 7 for anywhere from $40 - $80 on ebay.

3 - No thats my bad - my old file hosting went away - I have the stuff hosted on a new sever but need to fix the links when I have a moment.

4 - Sure! But the DD stands for Dave and David

1. who is going to do your Lotus ECU tuning?

2. what configurations will have tunes for? (stock with just manifold and tb. - manifold/tb/headwork/cams - etc...)

3. does the 1,400 price include the flash?

1 - Depends - I guess Charlie and us - we havent talked about it since he initially agreed to it.

2 - We haven't discussed that, but there would need to be a different tune for stock versus ported and cams to be sure.

3 - Thats just the manifold and fasteners for the Celica. We WILL be giving the celica guys a free copy of our Power FC map if they want it, but that doesn't do y'all any good.

Is it just me or are the dyno sheets missing from the first page for everyone else? What power does this claim to make?

Is there a dyno result for a lotus as opposed to celica engine

It made about 22 HP peak.

Nope - we haven't finalized the Lotus runner profile yet, so no dyno. FWIW Lotus Motor = Celica Motor. There is no difference aside from the ECU and exhaust.

We put the motor we are using to test the new runner profiles in the test mule this weekend so we should know in a week or two what we are looking at for the Lotus.

fixed the links - here you go for convenience:

Our manifold Versus stock with a Power FC - same tune, same dyno, same day:

Our Manifold Versus stock with a Power FC - both fully tuned for that setup, same dyno same day

Since Dave and most involved with the intake are tired as hell right now after two days of hard work. I will post the results for them here.... because its exciting as hell.

We were working till 5:30 AM this morning to finish the install and install guide and initial street tuning on the power FC. We then went to the dyno at noon today and it was 97-98 friggin degrees out and we were COOKING in the dyno bay. Tomorrow is mothers day and since I have been playing hotrod for 2 days straight I will not be on to post.

So anyways - great news - we just about duplicated our results from last time despite the fact that Chris wound up having a STOCK unported header and no cams. We made 190 HP on STD correction and very close to is on SAE, and the intake PFC numbers make the stock numbers look rediculously pathetic.

Here ya go - DD manifold w/ power FC (lift point at 4600 RPM) versus DD manifold w/ stock ECU.

Dyno results are now confirmed as duplicateable on a car that we never saw before last night and verified by 2 site members that were there as well. The gains through the midrange are insane as we hoped and the car is hellaciously fun to drive.

We're now REALLY excited about testing the shorter length runners, but we do hope we get a cool spell because a full day with a hot car in almost 100 degrees sucks the big one.

If anyone STILL has doubts, too bad!

...correct me if i'm mistaken, but isn't the engine rotated 180 degrees up against a rather cramped firewall in the lotus?..i'm having difficulty picturing how this will fit in one of our cars...

I was thinking the same thing. I already have an S/C so this wont work for me but I am curious how it will fit in there between the engine and firewall.

I imagine they will just use shorter runners, and maybe more of a curvature.

My supercharger should be here in a weeks time, so I won't be getting this... But I think it's very cool regardless, especially for people who wanna run in NA groups for Auto-x, and for turbocharged cars. Imagine the gains that could be had over stock, with a turbo charger, if it can net ~30 with NO forced induction.
