OMFG - 2bular Ultra installed

Wow, just wow.

Pops and burbles on overrun? Check.
Nice rumble at idle? Check.
Loud enough to need an OSHA label? Check.
Can no longer hear the stereo at any volume? Check.

I installed a 2bular Ultra single-tip last night in place of the stock 55 gallon drum. Really wish I had a way to record/share a soundclip and will see if I can work something out to manage that. For diffuser-duty, I went with the Von Hep panel eliminator - a nice piece that compliments the car well.

I made a couple of passes through a local toll tunnel last night, just for grins - best return on a $1 I've gotten in a long time!

Afterward, I hit a local underground parking garage. As I turned in to the garage, I heard the first alarm go off - and I wasn't even halfway down the ramp yet! Mu-wa-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!

congrats on the Ultra! I tried a single tip Ultra, but Jim had a problem with it; the drone was something awful! But he easily took it back and sent me an Ultra thru-the-diffuser instead. Can't say enough for the customer service!

yeah, they sure are loud, eh? ha! It will get louder with time.

No more rattles/buzzes than usual so far. FWIW, my car has always seemed a bit "loud" compared to the others I've been in. I've always worn earplugs on roadtrips.

I've noticed there seems to be a "quiet spot" in the 4k-5k RPM range where cruising at steady throttle doesn't really seem any worse than the stock exhaust.

I'll have to spend some more quality time with it to make any really informed comments - last night was mostly just driving around looking to set off car alarms and see if there was a marked increase in rubberneckering, (there was).

And it really does completely drown out the stereo!

I think so - esprit89 and I are planning to do a back-to-back comparison (he's got a Stage II). Initial reports are that he and his girlfriend can hear me coming from much farther away now.

We'll have to see if we can dig up a sound meter to db both. The tone is probably most comparable to the Stage II - but with significantly more popping and burbling.

I love it - the sound now matches the look!

Did you get in for TWS this weekend? I ran into a couple of the TDE guys at the Richmond Arms last night in Houston.

Nah... I'm skipping TWS in favor of hitting MSR again this weekend.

It'll take a while for me to meet up with a local with some video capability, but I'll see what I can do.

It pops on pretty much every upshift!

That's too bad. I've found the main straight at TWS is an excellent showcase for everyones exhaust note, especially from the paddock area. I decided to install a Stage II after listening to Jefferson's Arqray vs. a stnd. Elise.

Aye, the Ultra is very hard-core!
Drone issues are only present when I've made a mistake(!) and inserted the S core pipe instead of the 111R - sorry.
The S2G packing stays in the silencer which helps - a lot! I'm considering changing to another material which allows a higher pitch sound - let you know how this goes.

Jim, you're TEASING!

Don't tell me this! A higher pitch would make the Ultra ever more attractive than it already is!

Did I miss somewhere how much the exhaust and the other "goodies" were? I love my Stage II but Peehee has a Twin Tubular out the back that is just sweet! Just don't know if i can justify the $$.

The lower tone is one of the primary reasons I went with 2bular. The other is because that Jim guy hangs out on the forums and seems to have a pretty decent reputation.
