Painting exhaust tips advise

I'd like to get some advise on the best way to coat the exhaust tips in a matt black finish. Thanks.

They make a high temp paint for BBQ grills. Flat black too.

Did you prime it? Any blisters?

No primer. Just used some sandpaper to rough up the stainless steel, used water then alcohol to clean the surface, then spray painted about 4 light coats of paint.

I think the high temperature enamel engine paint that one can buy at the auto parts shop should do the trick too, but maybe those BBQ grill paints are cheaper...

Since it's an exhaust tip, whatever is cheaper and works would probably be my solution.
