I have the ITG and don't have that problem.
I'd check the vacuum line caps provided with the install kit to make sure they didn't come off. If they were okay I'd probably look at the MAF sensor next. The o-ring on that thing is tricky to get right. (Disclaimer: I'm not a real mechanic I just play one in my garage.) ![]() |

Check engine light P0171
No hesitation with mine that I know of. So far I have only had it on for 150 miles but I now have the above code on and I am not sure why.
Does anyone else have this problem? I am going to call my dealer tomorrow. Take care, mr t |

I'd agree. Sounds like it could be a vacuum line/cap issue (especially the CEL problem) -- that appears to be one of the tricky/delicate areas of this install. |

The vacuum caps were double checked and the MAF was very carefully installed. If there was a installation mishap, the check engine light would not have taken 150 miles to come on, right?
How long do you need to have the battery disconnected to reset the check engine light? Does anyone think that the problem could be related to the reprograming of my ECU at my 1K service? Thanks all for your comments, mr t |

The battery need only be disconnected for 10 minutes or so. I doubt your problem was your dealer's reprograming of the ECU. By any chance, did you get gas during this time frame -- could it be a gas cap issue? |

Cleared Ck. Eng. Light
Hi Jack,
There was never an issue with the gas cap. I always make sure it goes on correctly. After driving for two days, The light went out on its' own so I really don't know why it came on in the first place but I am glad that it is gone. I guess it cycled thru it like you said. Thanks for your time to input your thoughts, Take care, mr t |

If you're curious, you can still view the reason for your last Check Engine light with an OBD tool. You can even view the engine parameters at the time it decided to throw the error.
If you're curious.. |

toyopet,
are you still having problems with hesitation? Have any of the suggestions noted in this thread helped you? These guys are awesome. I would have suggested the same things!
