ok, got my Green filter 2093, doesn't look like it fits (only tried the fit with cup box and adapter) even though it's listed as

Part Number 2093 fits:
- 94-99 Toyota Celica all engine sizes.
- 93-97 Holden Apollo all engine sizes.
- 91-01 Toyota Camry all engine sizes.
- 93-01 Lexus ES300 all engine sizes.
- 97-04 Toyota Avalon all engine sizes.
- 99-03 Toyota Solara all engine sizes.
- 98-03 Toyota Sienna all engine sizes.
- 99-03 Lexus RX300 all engine sizes

both halves are symmetric, which isn't correct I think. Also there are raised tabs (6 or more) that are around the perimeter of the adapter that prevent it from seating properly. I have pics comparing the surround of the stock size Green filter with the one I ordered for the Cup box. Strange...I thought they would be identical in that respect.

anyone have pics of the TRD and K&N filters? I want to see the rubber edge shape (head on) and thickness (from the side)

thanks.

i have the correct filter...can someone verify they have these small pegs (6 of them) around the perimeter of the adapter? On the side that fits on the larger cup box. Looks like I have to grind these down to get the filter to sit flush.

I have the pegs and I've considered cutting them off.

i took all the parts to my lotus tech and he also agreed in grinding down the pegs. He's changed several of these filters in cup cars and he didn't recall ever seeing these pegs.

Also, I took my friend's air filter from his ES300 (same paper filter for cup car, Jack posted a pic of it) and it didn't fit within the adapter because of the pegs.

I also went to Pepboys to check the K&N filter, but they were out. TRD toyota dealer next!

Unless...I was thinking the the pegs raise the filter from the adapter. Why? because look at the filter from the cup side to the stock side. Yes, the filter is much larger, but the adapter shrinks it down to stock size. Also, if the adapter sits flush, it contacts the air filter preventing the air from going through. So I'm thinking these pegs raise the filter off of the adapter as to not contact the filter to allow the air to pass through. But, if that's the case, the pegs are not a good solution because the pressure exerted on the surround of the filter is concentrated on those points causing the filter to bend. Now if they had a raised narrow perimeter in line with the pegs that would be better.

You should have the dealer order you another one. In fact, I don't know how you got those front clips out or the rear one. You should do it quick while they have some in inventory in GA, because it took me > 2 months to get mine.

Dealer said they would send me a new one no problem.. but... they would have to get it from England again... I don't have my car yet so it is no big deal. If I don't have it replaced by the time I have the car and have passed my 1000 mile checkup I will start being annoyed.

Could always trim off the pegs and if it causes a problem, dab silicon where the pegs once were and let it dry.

For those that have installed the cup car airbox do you notice a discharge sound or (pssssshhhh) when you turn off the car after a drive?

With the CAI on the car I noticed the sound.

Have not installed the airbox yet, but hope to this weekend.

It's always been there on all my Loti variants (with or without the cup car box)....you just didn't notice the sound before the change.

Oh cool! I thought there was something wrong with my car. Is the cup car airbox a street legal mod or is it considered off road use only?

My guess would be off road, but it looks stock, so don't worry about it.

So I can call my Toyota dealer and ask for this and it will be the correct part for the "cup air box"?
