What does a stage II exhaust cost (installed) and what does the quick silver cost?

Test drove an elise with the stage II, sounds awesome. What does it cost installed? I know the Quick Silver exhaust is another alternative. What does it sound like compared to the stage II. What is the difference in price (installed)?

I assume the Quick Silver is cheaper but will not be warrantied by Lotus like the stage II.

thanks

The mufflers themselves cost about the same, excluding labor. The labor charge to install a stage II appears to vary wildly from dealer to dealer so you're better off checking with your nearest one.

And you'll need the warranty on the Stage two. Apparently there is a bad weld on these since many have needed replacement/repair. Maybe they fixed it by now. QS carries a 25 year warranty, but I have yet to hear of one failing in any way. I imagine the installation costs are similar, except the S2 requires a diffuser cut. QS you can do yourself if so inclined. I did-not a hard job, two hours, start to Gojo.

I don't think the dealer will install a QS since it is not a Lotus part. It is really not that hard to do yourself, I followed the various very excellent posts on this forum with step by step directions and it only took about two hours. (and that was with a cast on one foot).

Good luck, by the way I have the QS and really love the sound, haven't heard the Stage II.

I have heard both, repeatedly. They are both loud and proud. The QS has been shown, in objective measuring, to be the loudest. It has been accurately described at "throatier" IMHO. It also resonates more at speed, which can be not such a good thing.

I don't think a dealer would have any problem installing it, they just won't warranty it. So what. Take it to a dealer if you don't have enough confidence. But trust me-it's not a hard job. separating the stock exhaust from the cat pipe was the only PITA. WD40 and a hammer solved that.
