What Exhaust do you have for your S240?

Min. Drone but LOUD when you get on it? Does it exist for the SC cars?

Yes I searched just looking for the most updated opinion.

Thanks

The install on my Larini SC Sport should be finished tomorrow. I can give you a first impression and maybe a video clip soon.

Don't have a S240 (too slow ) but I currently have 2bular's 8" FI can on mine. It's pretty darn quiet.

I had the 2bular 4" FI on it before and it was loud as hell, but not inside the cabin nor did it drone like the stage2. But I do have an above exit exhaust, so the note doesn't reverb off the pavement of the low exits.

I have the Larini Clubsport S on an s240 and I love it but it is pretty loud, it drones but not that bad compared to a Lotus stage II. One issue with it though is that the exhaust tip is long so I had mine shortened to look close to stock. Audio is not great but my last track day video is here if you want to get an idea for pops, gurgles, etc. it will shoot some fireballs out from time to time also.

Anyway,

Did you notice any performance difference compared to stock? Loss of power or change in throttle response?

There is a slight change in throttle response. I think low rpm like 1k to 3k maybe a bit slower but after that point till 8k I think it pulls harder than stock. I don't have hard data to qualify it but I do feel it. Once past 1st gear your in a higher rpm range on shift so it just feels stronger. One thing in an s240 with stock exhaust is that the cam switch is very smooth almost non existent but with the clubsport you now feel that cam switch which could be the increase in mid range or just simply the exhaust is free flowing. The key is also the weight savings over stock as I think its half the weight if not more which many offer anyway but still something to think about.

I have driven a few different s240's with different exhausts (several mentioned above) and I like this sound/feel the best (I will say at first I was skeptical but now love it). I would say for my choice I would either go 2bular or clubsport and you know which I ended up with...

Larini SE with silenced decat on car when I purchased it. Sounds fantastic (makes superbikes jealous), but way too loud when I tip into the throttle. No droning and decently quiet at cruise, but, as noted, too loud when get on it. I will have to do something to it to be able to drive it next summer, considering the "revenue enhancement" operations of the local gestapo.

So far my fav sound is the Lotus Stage III on a car that has a cat. It has the tone I want.

I am looking for what sounds most like it however with decat. In my opinion I will need an 8", anything else is too loud for me with a decat. The Stage III with decat seems too loud.

So, im down to 2bular or Larini - 8" flavor. BTW, anyone have sound bites to post?

Edit: Imolas, I think Stage III with decat might be a good option for you. With cat I think 6" can is the largest you should go with.

Cat or de-cat. That is the question.

Man, I don't know how you guys do it. Just drove around with the Larini SC Sport, apparently one of the quieter offerings, and jeezus. It's not painfully loud, but I wouldn't want it a peep louder for street driving. Sounds ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC when it gets wailed on. Actually made me laugh out loud the first time.

Yes, I agree. It will get a bit quieter with age.

Yes, in fact they have now shortened them. The Tip is more tucked into the diffuser. Looks great and in stock.

Damn, mine's definitely a little long (and a little skewed). Can I get an exhaust shop to reweld that?

Lotus Stage III which is designed for the S240/forced induction, 12 lbs lighter than stock, and sounds fantastic...picked up from FVMC. Using with Arqray silenced decat.
