I used to work for that dealership so they called me regarding info on the vehicle and pretty much a clean car with roughly around 2700 miles, track pack, star shield, touring pack and traction control. Seems like a good deal with the right options and miles.

Abe, did you get a chance to see the car first hand? Do you know how they acquired the car?

I didn't see the car personally but Qais, the ex-tech of formerly Lotus of South Bay has and says it is perfect with no accidents or any high rpm's. This car was a trade in and originally sold by Newport. If you need to talk to someone there, let me know as I still know everyone.

I talked to people at South Bay BMW. I checked the car out. I got out of the salesperson that they bought it at auction, which is a bit weird to me. It has a couple of dings in the paint, one on a rocker panel, and another on the rear bumper area. It looked clean, though the brakes felt inordinately stiff to me (I had to use a lot of pedal force to get it to do its thing, but it had very little travel) compared to my 2005 Elise.

Definitely not as good a deal as the $39.5 2007 with 5k miles that just sold here the other day.

Also, I dont think it has the touring pack.

Thanks for the info.
Did you drive the car? If so, how did it drive? Paint dings - are you talking chips or spider cracks.

Actually, the vehicle states touring pack on the Lotus Connect system that I use . $43,995 is not a bad deal for a car with 2700 miles and if anyone was seriously interested, I'm sure they'd knock off a couple more thousands dollars to make a deal.

Every dealer has a wholeseller that they buy cars from and over the years have built a trust relationship where they know they are not buying a bad car otherwise the wholeseller would buy back so dealers buying cars from a wholeseller or auctions is definitely not out of the norm.

Was that you I spoke to on the phone a few days ago?

I'm interested that it has a touring pack yet has untrimmed centre console, no driving lights and has silver door panels?

Just found out that the vehicle has been taken to the auction
If it doesn't sell, it will come back and if anyone is interested, I'm sure they will blow out the car...things aren't the same there since they got rid of Lotus ...can't even sell a used Lotus

Hey Abe, yep it was me!

It definitely does NOT have the touring.. Silver plastic door panels, cloth seats, no extra carpeting in the cockpit (which I think is a feature of touring package)...

I don't know. The sales manager was pretty adamant about no going a dollar beneath 43,999. They were asking 45,999 when I first went in. But who knows, maybe they will go for something more reasonable (given todays market, as opposed to last month's market) if they get it back.

I figure they will get what at auction? 37k? maybe 38k?

You just have to ask the right person for a deal there...that's easy tho.

Yeah, I expect they will get that from auction if it sells.

So I just found the car again.. This is funny, its like musical cars over here.

2007 Lotus Exige S 2846 miles

Looks like another dealer has it now, and is hoping to get 48.5k for it.. umm, keep dreaming people. Keep dreaming.

Hey Perfect - what car you trying to sell?
I have an 05 Elise 10,500 miles, Burgundy Metallic (Bordeaux), with Metallic Grey Racing Stripes (with black pin stripes). No touring, WITH sport pack, with Stage 2 exhaust.

I am really torn, because it is the most beautiful color the elise has ever been offered in, and I think it looks stunning with the stripes. Everyone I know who comments on the car always makes a comment about how amazing the color is. And for me finding one in the color I wanted with Sports pack and sans touring was supremely lucky. Its the perfect combo, its 35 pounds lighter than a standard elise with touring (no sports). So I love it, but I am really interested in getting an Exige S, because this one has just opened my eyes to the wonder of Lotuses, and I want that extra 40HP!

I am not the biggest fan of the yellow/green/orange/white/black/standard red colors, and its rare that I'll admit that vanity is part of why I want an Exige S. Finding one in a color I love is tough, as I only ever see them in the colors listed above, and then a couple of bright blues and metallic grey. All of which dont stir my emotions like the Burgundy mettalic does.

So thats my dilemna right now, this weekend I am going to make the choice. Keep the Elise, or Sell the Elise to buy an Exige S. With the prices Exige's have been going for I am leaning towards going the Exige S route.

Are those cloth seats? Huh? Touring pack, track, etc... but cloth seats?

I'm sure they are leather. They look like cloth in the picture.

The blue Exige S in question does NOT have touring. Abe's files might say it does, but if definitely does not (whether someone changed it after buying it or not I dont know, but it seems like it came this way from the factory).

It has cloth seats, plastic silver molded door panels, track pack with harness bar, traction control, and starshield. Plus some scratches in the paint.
