2006 Exige Value

Hey guys,

Been here since January kicking around the idea of an Elise, but truly Id love a 2006 Exige. I found one at a dealer with under 6000 miles, but there price is higher than what I typically see them going for on here. With the 08 Exige S's coming soon, I just feel they are asking a bit too much.

Cartel aside (), what would the value be on an 06 Exige with under 6000 miles, typical options, without lsd? Thanks for the help.

I think that $85,000 might be a bit, um... "optimistic."

Reality will be much closer to $84,750.

Mine only has about 1550 miles on it so it must be worth almost 90K then.

Well first off you never listed a price they were asking, such a vague question as how much should they sell for just asks for answers such as these.

But in answer to your question, new 06's from dealer (yes they are still out there) run between 48-52 depending on options and if dealer wants to move them.

Buying used from a dealer will obviously be higher than from an individual. They have to charge for their time in cleaning the vehicle, inspecting, posting, and storage on their lot.

Used from individual will run from 40k (lowest i've seen and probably not easy to come by) to 45k fully loaded.

Hope that helps.

There are just not that many 06 exiges out there to be had. I paid a little more for the new left over 06 that I bought from FVMC than I had originally wanted to but it was just what I was looking for and I did not have to travel to get it. I am very pleased also with how I have been treated by the guys at FVMC. If you find one that is the color and has the options that you like negotiate the best deal you can and join the exclusive club of N/A Exige owners.

Definitly high 80's
I'm an 06 Exige owner, and I would know!

Don't believe any of those Elise owners, they're just jealous!

You forgot paint sealer, leather protector, fabric protector, VIN etching, documentation fees, and rust proofing. These push up the price to $85k-ish

Must be the black one at FVMC right? That car came in right before they got mine for me. If I remember it was a good looking car. One thing you have to consider is what will it cost to get one to you. I looked at one out east and one out west, by the time i figured flying out to buy one of them and the drive back it was not much more to buy the one locally.

If it is the one at FVMC they are great people from my experience so far.

Yea, FVMC. Ive been talking with Bill Jr. and Tony for months now, and they are great guys. I did have a run in with a manager before I left though, giving me the typical "why arent you putting a deposit down, why do you need to go home and look at the numbers we can do it here, blah blah blah" car salesman crap. That really pissed me off, and I got up and walked out. I told Tony if he and his brother had not have already established a good relationship with me, that would have been a deal breaker. I expect that crap at a Chevy dealer, not a high end store...

No, low $40's is too much, unless the car has more than $10k in additional aftermarket parts you want. I am sure they are asking somewhere in the mid to low 40's for the car you were looking at, but it will take them a long long time to sell it. Think of yourself as their last hope to sell this car for at least the next 6 months. In the spring of 2008 the cars will not be selling for more than $40k ever. Right now, most are being sold for more than $40k.

look at the price and depreciation of the supercharged 2007's
http://www.elisetalk.com/forums/show...ghlight=resale

Try and get it for the mid to high 30's, as that is actually a fair/good price. These cars are depreciating like SH!T. If you buy the car today, and you turn around the next day to sell it, you wouldn't get an offer of more than $33-$37k depending on options. If you really like it, go for it and pay what they want, but I am trying to help you become aware that the negotiating power is firmly on your side. Especially with the new supercharged elise for 2008. If it is from a reputable/official Lotus dealer, I think you could get it for $36.5 to $39.5k not including taxes. I just recently sold my 06 Exige, so I know all about the market for them.

Wishful thinking.

While you are studying depreciation of these cars, I am out studying lines on the track!

You know about the market for them when you sold yours.

I fully admit THIS is wishful thinking...but as the new 2008's come out, with higher MSRP, and the 2007's while depreciating will still cost more than an 06, more and more people who want into a blown Lotus but are on the financial edge, will think: "I'll just get an 06 and put a kit on it."

Good for me, 'cause there are fewer than 300 06's out there, and while I'm not predicting it as a likely outcome, it is not implausible that demand will at worst level off (along with resale prices), but demand may actually increase slightly.
