Exclamation 2009 Exige S260 carbon fiber parts

Guys... do you know where i can get exige s260 carbon fiber front spoiler, rear wing and side scoop for my exige s240? Does Lotus still produce it? If so, how much would it cost? Anyone working in Lotus can help me?

Well you can certainly try to get them through Lotus...your local dealers parts dept. The side scoops, access panels and roof are still being used on the 2010 Exige Cup 260 for UK (not coming to US) - the splitter and wing may be difficult to come by - as well as rear hatch if your trying to achieve the whole 260 look. If not - it would be best to use aftermarket pieces. There are several vendors on here, including Sector 111 who sell carbon fiber pieces.

Currently on ebay there are cf front splitter, rear wing, and side scoops for Exige. No difference in fitment between N/A 06, 07 S220, 08 S240, or 09 S260.

May not be OEM Lotus parts, but don't kid yourself, Lotus doesn't make their parts. They have small contractors make them, and they'll switch around suppliers based on price and availability.

If you want the cf look, there are lots of options out there for your Exige.

That is true. To be honest, there are probably some better aftermarket options out there anyway. I think the only thing I benefit from having these from Lotus themself on my Sport 260 is that they all match and are clear coated - so I really didn't have to do any prep or anything else.

Carbon Fiber weave can vary - some are large, some are tighter and finer. I would just say try to stick with the same manufacturer for all the pieces if you can. Also definately have any pieces that aren't clear coated done so they don't yellow. I have seen another local Exige with carbon fiber side scoops that has yellowed real bad and look terrible. It's as if it has a flaky haze that ruins the look.

Lotus recently sent out a PDF with all the carbon bits available from the S260 as an add on for any Exige owners. Call my parts guy Justin at Fox Valley Motorcars to get the pricing on the parts your looking for. 630-654-9000

Hi T.J., do you know if they are UV coated? Glossy or flat finish or is that a choice? Have a link to the PDF (as it might answer all my questions).

Thanks!

If you are going for the 260 look, there is one significant piece missing - the grafted section in the rear clams hoop that is between the roof and the rear hatch. This part extends the carbon fiber mohawk all the way from the back up the roof.

My guess is that these are unfinished parts that Lotus intends for the owner to paint rather than leave portions or the entire part exposed. Nothing in the brochure says but I will bet it does not come clear coated so that it can be matched to the color of the car. Otherwise I suspect that grafted peice would have been included to replicate the exposed cf mohawk.

Everything is supposed to be a direct fit to U.S. spec cars.
