2Bular GT3 + rear grilles

Hello.

I wanted to know if anybody has already fitted a 2bular GT3 exhaust 6, 7 or 8" with the rear grilles still in places, with the exit thus going though the right grille?

Any pictures, advices, ....?

Thx!

François

GT3 Exhaust

I've got an 8 inch 2bular GT3 exhaust and you can't use the rear grill due to size. You can make it fit, but it will be packed so tight (and you will have to remove some heat insulation) that it will probably be a fire hazard. Naked rear is only way to go with 8 inch. By the way, the 8 inch is fairly quite at low RPM's, but it sounds great above 4000 RPM's.

I plan to remove all the heatshielding.
There is thus enough space for putting the grilles back in place.
The only trick is to find the appropriate way to drill the right grille.
Any experiences?

I have the 7" GT3 and had the shop cut out the right grille. I left the heat shielding in place (except for a cut-out for the pipe to exit). It looks very OEM. The car is at the shop now for new seats and interior work, but I will post pics when it returns. I'm very happy with the way it turned out.

I just removed a section of the heatshield where the exhaust tip was going to exit. I got a piece of cardbard cut to look like the right side rear grille (like a template) and put it through the tip and tried to get a good approximation of the oval cutout. I then drew the oval and cut it out from the grille with a dremel tool.

I'll post a pic tomorrow morning.
