Adding driving lights to my S240?

I have always wanted to add the driving lamps onto my S240 because they did not come stock. In my image, LOTUS must have those lamps LOL

I asked the dealer and they said the driving lights will only work if you are ON HIGH BEAM and have that extra button pressed.

So is that mean I will not be able to drive with the lamps on if I am on low beam?

Elise and Exige work the same I suppose.
any help?

They only come on with the High beams and are actually considered high beam assist lights... You don't have to push any extra buttons as they will just come on with the high beams... They are however a HUGE improvement over just the stock high beams. Literally night and day...

I'm not sure about the non-USA versions, but on my '06 Elise, there is a third button. The driving lights only go on with the high-beams as others have suggested, but you can toggle them off or on with the third button (when the high beams are on). So you can have Low Beams, High Beams with Driving Lights, and High Beams without Driving Lights (though IMO the High Beams are pretty worthless by themselves).

+1 on the High Beam function and third button on my former 06 Exige.

To the OP...installing the factory driving lights on the Exige could very well require clam removal. The mesh is bonded in, so getting in there to get the lights mounted, and install new mesh with cutouts in place or doing a good job of cutting holes in your existing mesh would likely require clam removal.

You can rewire them to come on whenever the button is pressed. I have them wired with the parking lights, so if the top button is on and the third button is pressed the lights come on.

If you want more details on how to rewire just ask.

A note on installing on an exige, it is not necessary to remove the clam. I installed them at home and what i did was cut the hole in the mesh exactly the same size as the light and bent the mesh inboard for a cleaner looking install.

The exige is prewired and the brackets installed for the lights, you just have to untape the connectors for the lights by removing the turn signals and reach toward the center of the car to untape them. They are close to the center of the car so it would be helpful to have some skinny helpers. Install the new button panel by swapping your stock and new button. And install the included relay in the empty receptacle under the dash.

Just keep in mind that they are very bright -- and you should NOT have them illuminated when you are in any oncoming traffic. It would not be very nice, and could be dangerous for the other drivers.

must be the 6th time I've typed this.

Best method is to use a relay so the DLs come on with high beams. No need for a separate swich at all.

In 40 yrs or so of driving, never once wanted high beams on w/o driving lights or vice-versa.

easier to wire, too.
