Bulb replacement on rear fender reflector

Hi everyone,

I've searched but can't find any threads relating to this. Basically I just purchased an Exige from out of state and went to get the silly MD state inspection done unfortunately one of the bulbs is out on the federal reflector that runs along the fender.

How does one replace this?

Thanks

I believe you have to remove the wheel liner to gain access.

Thanks, this arse**** that was performing the inspection mentioned that the entire assembly had to replaced for $50~ which made no sense.

They're not bulbs though, they're LEDs. You can't just replace one of those, can you?

Yes, the whole unit has to be replaced.

I'd still pull the fender liner and check the electrical connector - LEDs don't usually go bad, so I'd suspect a loose connection.

There is also a conector in the trunk area for these as well.

A loose connector wouldn't result in only one of the three LEDs failing to light though, would it?

If the resistor was defective it would burn out the diodes.

Hmmm... I didn't know there was more than one in there (guess I never paid attention).

So, no, if the light was unplugged, none would light up.
