Buying an Exige 2007 year
Hello boys,
first of all I am big fan of Lotus since ever. At 2000 year I first time see an exige in real and from then I am just waiting the right day to buy one. And I think it's come. I have a lot of experience on a Supercharged MINI where we make a lot of things to make it faster. But I am absolutely new with Lotus. Can you advise me what to be carefully when I am buying (at this case) 2007 year Exige 220 HP with low mileage? Is there any specific problems? Does this model already has an oil coolers? As I said I am big rookie with this cars so please any advice before buying it where I must be careful with the buy. Thanks guys. I am coming from Europe (Slovenia). There is a chance there is no Exige in our country yet.

Go for it. Love my 2007 Exige S. No issues...yes to oil coolers but I have heard of some leaking issues.
I don't think I'll ever sell mine. Please help me with mini advice as I want to add one to my garage. Looking for older right hand drive mini. thanks, e

You will love the Exige! The late 2007 models are not in the oil cooler line recall. supposedly Lotus began using a new crimping method. I have had zero issues with mine besides the occasional stall at a stop which is a known problem.
The way the car was cared for is key, so if maintenance records and an ECU dump are available you should know all you need to. My family is from Slovenia! My great grandparents moved to the US. It's a real shame they didn't pass the language on. I need to make a trip to the homeland some day. Looks like a beautiful place.

depends when the car was made with respect with the oil coolers.
The cams could be something, but it's rarer on the 07 and later cars. I have an 07 and personally like it much better than any other exige. I didn't have the rear bumper addition and 07s had the white tach & speedometer.

It is 08/2007.
Is possible to get data from VIN number as: - which suspension does has this car - does has LSD from factory - all other important things? Because it is a good priced at start, but won't spend the rest as much as I go for one 2010 with all that already - if you understand what I mean? |

If you need advice, feel free to pm me. I own a classic Mini and was very involved with the Mini scene (in Los Angeles) for quite a number of years.

If you're worried about it have it fixed. A cheap fix would be just to have the lines that run along the sides of the car done. April 2007 isn't part of the recall, I had a similar question to you and asked the dealer if they thought I should fix it anyway - they said I shouldn't worry about it.
