Carbon fiber Exige Cup roof

Series 2 Exige Cup roof. This is the first one out of the mold, so this means they are officially available!

Contact Fox Valley Motorcars if you would like one.

Oh wow. Excellent work as always (how is the S1 coming along?), now those exige owners have no excuse!

Is this a carbon fiber skin that attaches over the roof with double sided tape, or an actual roof?
(I keed, I keed, just joking around)

Looks fantastic by the way.

Of course, sorry.

10.6 pounds. Price is entirely up to Fox Valley Motor Cars, but I can tell you it won't be cheap. I'm not in this business to make cheap stuff. Now I know there is a demand for the cheap stuff, I've just chosen to market my business as the polar opposite of cheap stuff.

These roofs are vacuum infused with high temp resin and diamond clear non-yellowing gelcoat. This is NOT your typical carbon bling piece.

Sweet Daddy, I'm a huge fan of Triumph the dog.

This is two castings, (inner panel and outer panel) bonded together using ridiculously expensive NASA developed epoxy. Using this type of epoxy is so strong, that it allows me to sleep at night knowing it's not coming apart.......even at 170mph!

P90, the S1 body work is all done and mounted on the car. I've been waiting on an unmentioned vendor to produce shift linkage, axles, etc and that vendor fell of the face of the planet. I've taken on the responsibility of fabricating all the rest of the missing pieces myself. The Driveshaft Shop just shipped the custom made axles, (good for 400hp), in two weeks time! They are an amazing vendor!

You are not so bad yourself Mike

The S1 Exige's owner is a lucky guy to be in such capable hands.

I take it the unnamed vendor is Joe?

That part is better than OEM, for certain. Just beautiful.

The phone # for FVMC is 630-231-3400. Ask for Bill Jr., I assume?

I want one!

Attaches as stock?
Includes gaskets?
Includes "captive" fasteners?
Lined at all (alcantara would be nice)?
At least as strong structurally as stock?

Like the blend into the factory-sized opening - looks nice.

Can you install the factory interior liner on this roof? Does it come with mounting hardware or do you have to strip it off the donor roof? Any pictures of the backside?

The quality looks amazing and John at FVMC seems stoked on it but for the price they told me...it brought me back to reality haha.

Do you have some pis of the underside view? John tells me he is looking into the hardware and seals.

John didn't have an exact price but he said 3500-5000 but closer to 4500.

Here's a shot of the underside of the Cup roof, It's carbon and Kevlar. Opaque black gelcoat finish.

None of the hardware is pictured here, but they are intended to ship out of FVMC as assembled units with all the necessary bits.

By the way, we've got a mold for the hardtop Elise too!

In addition to the questions about mounting brackets, underside view, etc., can you please provide close-up photographs of the edges where the top comes in contact with the body, including side glass. If this is a high-priced piece equating to high-quality, I am quite concerned about factory fit.

If all looks good, you may have one customer.

Also, I will be in Chicago July 5-7, and might want to drop by at some point to have a look see. Will you have the roof attached to an Exige (preferrably an 07)??

I'll be able to post better pictures after the assembly of the gaskets, clips, etc is finished, and the piece is actually fastened on the car. The pictures I submitted today are of the roof we made simply resting on a 2006 Exige. Unfortunately, I don't own the car so I don't always have access to an example.
