Carbon Fiber fender flares

Hello,

I was just talking with Carbon Art. They are considering making carbon fiber fender flares. I am interested.

Anyone else interested? The cost (rough) would be in the $600-700 range for a set of four (front and rear) flares. These would be a bolt-on type.

Please let me know if you are interested.

Thanks,

-Paul

Do you have any pictures of something similar, or exactly, what you have in mind that these will look like?

No, not yet. I called inquiring because I want a set. I want them to follow the original lines of body unlike, say, the Reverie ones I've seen. I don't want to have to blend them. I want to simply be able to cut the existing fenders and bolt these bad boys on. At this point, I think we are pretty free to determine what they will look like as they will be making these from scratch for us.

Like I said, I'm planning on having a set made. The estimated price is 1/4-1/3 the price of the Reverie ones, and the Reverie ones are fiberglass, not CF.

Be very careful if you're thinking of using bolt on flares for the Elise. The composite clam is very thin and will not hold up well to the stress. The Exige had laid fiberglass is much stronger for this application.

I've just bought a set from Reverie for my Exige back here in Scotland. They are here and go on the car in a few days... BUT - when you add UK Tax (VAT) and shipping they work out over $3000.... And they are fiberglass, not Carbon Fibre.

Shocks me that yours are going to be so cheap!!!????? $600 per flare would make more sense.

I am in if you can work them out nicely, but carbon fibre....
I wouldnt be able to bond then.... bolt-on looks not smooth if you say...

and I am pretty sure it wont be so cheap w 4 pieces (just saying thinking CF are usually expensive, not as cheap as $600)

hurry before I get my reverie ones!

'Cheap' and 'carbon fiber' do not exist in the same sentence. The only way they coexist is in the realm of CRAP.
