Composite Worx Sp-1 seats
This a review and discussion thread about aftermarket replacement seats for the Exige.
![]() Some background: I'm about 5'7" 140 lbs, Love the look of the stock Exige seats. Unfortunately my 31-32 waist is just a tad too small for stock seats and I tend to slide around on the leather if I don't brace myself under hard cornering. Being limited to certain seats offered for the Exige/Elise tight cockpit, I looked at Tillett racing seats, Corbeau and Reverie. I didn't like the look of the Tillett or Corbeau and felt even if they were comfortable, fit great I'd never be happy with how they looked. Reverie seats had the right design and quality I was looking for, but once you add all the padding you're looking at a pretty substaintial amount for just one seat. Seems like it'd be too harsh, slippery and cold with just cloth against the smooth Carbon shell. With options limited I figured I could just get away with harnesses for track days/spirited driving. Then I discovered a new manufacturer with probably the most beautiful seat I've seen. From what I've been told by the manufacturer, its based on the original exige seat so dimensions will be similar and I have the option for suede padding, which will add some comfort and more grip over the stock leather. Not only are they awesome looking but have with an adapter that makes them direct replacement onto stock rails. I was sold. And at about 3kg per seat, there is a weight savings, but I don't know the exact weight of stock seats. Can someone chime in on this? Seats should be coming in 2 weeks, will post a review when they arrive. Many pictures to come. Here are some pics from Composite worx site: ![]() ![]() ![]() Hopefully this thread will be informative and helpful to those in the Lotus community looking for new seats.

Its different depending on the options and upgrades you want but I think I paid a very fair price considering I got the seats, adapter and suede pads.
you can inquire on Composite Worx website: Home - COMPOSITE WORX CARBON PREMIUM SEATS FOR LOTUS AND LIGHT CARS or British Racing Group which is a Vendor Carbon/ Carbon Kevlar Seats for your Lotus and other premium Sports Cars

The stock rails are heavy and I might look at changing those out for a lighter setup. San |

Awesome, thanks for the info San. I was thinking you can I could compare once they come in, and I was going to weigh everything out and give the true difference.

Is the BRG price is for one pair or one seat? Cos it says sold as a pair. If a pair, that is a great price!
Any idea if these conforms to FIA 8855-1999?

The Composite Workx website in Italy says €649 for double skin, €89 for suede, and €40 for Elise mounting. That would be $1009 for one complete seat and $2018 for a pair! |

What's the difference between double and single skin? Look or just more weight savings?

"SINGLE SKIN HAS FRONT CARBON FINISH, LOTUS SPECIFIC BRACKET OR UNIVERSAL BRACKET, SKIDPROOF. TWIN SKIN HAS FRONT AND REAR CARBON FINISH, LOTUS SPECIFIC BRACKET OR UNIVERSAL BRACKET, SKIDPROOF." When your rear seat passengers aren't watching headrest videos, they can admire the carbon finish on the back of the seats.

![]() I wonder what they use instead of CF for the single skin back? Fiberglass? I may have to look into getting a set of these myself. probably cost as much as getting replacement Exige seats.

6.6 lbs is same weight as Reverie's single skin seat. (Their double skin seat is 5.25 lbs).

I'm expecting the seats to come in next week, and I'll probably try to check on the progress later tonight. I started this thread way too early but I really wanted to build up some following for when I get results and pics. hopefully then we can answer alot of the questions.
