Considering 2008 Exige S240

Hi everyone. This is my 1st post so please bear with me. I have a few questions regarding the 2008 Exige S240. I found the answers to 2 of them by searching (traction control and starshield), so I know I've come to the right place

So the only other things I'm trying to find are what color options do I have, and more specifically, where can I find images of the different colors (my local dealer doesn't have any pics or swatches yet)? I'm leaning towards graphite grey (same as my Evo IX - man I miss that car...). Also, to get the 240 bhp version of the Exige S, do I just need to specify the performance pack? FYI - The only other option I would get is the touring pack. At first I thought I also need to get traction control, but as I've learned, that's standard on the 2008 model (right?).

It would be nice if Lotus updated their Web site (http://www.lotuscars.com/ExigeS.aspx) with the new 2008 Exige S. So in the mean time, thanks in advance for your help

P.S. The reason I'm still "considering", as opposed to being "definite", is because I'm going back and forth about waiting for the Nissan GT-R. Ignoring the fact that one dealer told me they're adding $10K to the MSRP for it, I'm just amazed that the MSRP came in as about the same for a 2008 Exige S240 (adding my paint choice). Talk about bang for your buck

Kramer,

Welcome.
Here are the color options, or at least what I have seen of them and believe them to be.
2008 Prism Green? From Whence it came...

There are color chips on the board in the background also. I'm not sure if the dealers even have the color chip cards yet and to be honest I was shocked at the difference between the '07 color chips and those colors on a car in person -- every one of them seemed to be nicer in person.

Graphite Grey is a nice choice. I don't think, IMO, you can go wrong with any color (well, maybe the prism green ) available. You will get opinions + and - on every color option. Just get what you like and you'll be happy.

Thanks, and yeah, that color board definitely doesn't do those colors any justice. But I just found a thread (EXIGE PHOTOS) which has made me decide that graphite grey is definitely my pick

I don't know the 08 colors but check out the gallery forum. It has most if not all the Lotus colors on cars.

Don't worry about the GT-R, it will sell below sticker just like the ZO6 does now.

Might be a while before you can get one at sticker though. Its still tough to find a Shelby GT500 for sticker. Most dealers are still asking 10K over sticker and in the beginning they were asking 20K over sticker.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking too, and I don't really want to wait another year before getting my next car, so I'll probably settle on the Exige. Well, "settle" sounds bad. I mean happily get the Exige

It just hurts a bit knowing what else the same amount of money could potentially buy, and I've been dreaming of a "Skyline" for years. I just wish the damn dollar wasn't so weak. $70K is a lot of money for a Lotus. And this stock market isn't helping much

I hate white on all cars except the elise and exige, somehow it looks brilliant on them. However i think the best color on the exige is black, it just looks mean

however pick a color you like, you won't find a consensus on what color to get, and people are right, all colors look good on these cars.

Thanks, and I've decided on graphite grey. I was just looking for pics with the different colors (which I found), not suggestions, but you're right, this car looks great in just about any color

And you're right, black looks sick and I like it the best, but I'll never own a black car again. Gotta clean it too often, and I'm lazy

and when it's worth $50K twelve months later and you want to move on to something else, it will hurt even more.

For hiding dirt my Storm Titanium is awesome. It's kinda like silver, but like a "dirty" silver color. So you're average road dirt doesn't show up until it's really really dirty.

LOL, true that, but come on, there's no way I'll be wanting to move on to something else that soon

Once I get one, I plan on enjoying it for years to come

I seriously think it's a huge mistake for you to get this car. With the comments you made I guarantee you'll regret this purchase and sell the car within a few months. You might not think so now but it sounds like you're just attracted to the "idea" of the car and you're not actually prepared for something so focused and hardcore.

Nah, don't worry - 'hardcore' is my middle name (I've also owned a TVR and an Evo - both of which are relatively hardcore in their own rights). I've been preparing for a while, and I decided a while ago that my next car would be 1 of 2 choices (as mentioned above). And I never have regrets

Actually, I lied. I do have 1 regret - not keeping my Evo

But that's okay - the Exige shall make up for it!

Welcome! The GT-R and exige aren't even in the same league, the GT-R is a fast GT car. Have you sat in and taken an elise or exige for a test drive? If not, You may not realize how impractical and extreme these cars can be, but for some (especially as a 2nd.. or 3rd car), thats perfect

Graphite is the best color! I should know. Why do you want the GTR, that car is twice the weight and twice as ugly as the Exige.

If you end up buying an Exige, and don't really like the large roofscoop hardtop. I would like to trade you for my original Exige S hardtop.

Yeah, I've driven one before (on a track no less ). And no, I have no intention of making this my daily driver. This is purely my weekend and occasional track day car (and perhaps once a week to work when the sun is out ).
