Cup S260=US$139,990?

I assume that is in USD? It's a great car, but that is crazy $$$. What do you guys think? How much is a 'regular' Exige btw in comparison?

EDIT: I guess it's called "CUP260" w/ no "S"? If yes, regrets on the typo.

That's not USD, nor is that the US market price.

These cars are awful expensive in some coutries (Hong Kong for instance).

You're right, I psyched myself out. In Canada it's 'only' C$91,795:

That must be AU dollars. Hence the accent and the fact that he is driving on the left side of the road sitting on the right side of the car... and is in Australia.

True - and at the end of the video it shows "cumberland courier" which is a Syndney newspaper.

By my count, out of the 15 that were shipped here, 7 are still available at the moment. 1 is already available used (purchased for 2 months, tracked hard and traded back for a Porsche). The only options were color and star shield and prices hover around $76,000 USD not $139,000.

Given all the production problems these cars faced and the time required to build - it is no surprise these are not economically feasible to continue for 2010 for the US. I suspect Lotus (due to extended time, labor and parts expense) actually didn't make much of a profit off this car or may have suffered a loss on it in the US. All the time for paint (which is a longer process with these), carbon fiber mock up (interior dash, seats and exterior pieces), plus suspension and rear sub frame variations cause this to take longer than a standard Elise, Exige 240 or 2-11 to produce. And if they did continue selling them here - and adjusted the price - it would compete with the Evora price wise and would have a harder time selling against other cars in that price point.

Yes, the car is in Sydney Australia. Our cars are stratospherically more expensive than all your cars, regardless of make/model.

That car has now been sold.
