Welcome!

The differential in these cars is the same as the one in a Toyota Celica GTS. The problem is the diff. is inside the transaxle so depending on what you broke and how many metal fragments/chunks were scattered throughout the inside of the transaxle case, you may need more parts due to subsequent transmission damage. Replacing just the differential is not the easiest job (requires disassembling the transaxle and some special tools) so it may make more sense to just get another new or used transaxle to replace yours. Also, if you end up swapping the entire transaxle for one from a US Celica, it will have a different 6th gear ratio that is more like an overdrive gear which may or may not be desirable to you.

There are other "fragile" parts in the tranny (i.e. second gear synchro), but I haven't heard of many people breaking the diff.

The car has a bit of work. How can you not launch the car everytime you are at the traffic lights?
