The rear clam is a China copy used for race. It is lighter and a lot cheaper incase i damage it during a race.

A few of pics of my Exige S (with decat 2bular zaust)
Hi from across the pond (London).
Here's my Exige S. Only thing I've done is decat the exhaust with a little help from 2bular. I went for the decat pipe and a custom back box that has a removable sleave in the tail pipe to make the exhaust track day quiet or mental loud depending on my circumstances at the time. Sounds bloody amazing and has free'd up some weight and helped the supercharger pull a bit harder and earlier. Oh and I've changed the brake fluid (uprated DOT) and fitted pagid pads as I was always cooking the brakes on track. Much better now altho still not perfect. I've got a Cup 255 roof being fitted next week as my current, standard roof has cracked in 3 of the 4 corners (?!) and is being replaced under warranty. Not quite sure how it happened and even my dealer was suprised - maybe it's an indication of just how hard I corner (which might explain why I seem to murder tyres every 3k). Hopefully the new roof with the bigger air intake will help me when I finally get bored of the 220 bhp and start mod'ing it to run more boost, etc. I think I've posted these images once already on the general forum so apologies to anyones who's had to look at them twice. The track pic is me at the Top Gear track a few months ago. |

No, he has the original Exige wheels on his car. In all markets other than the US, the wheels on his car were standard equipment on the Exige. When the Exige came to the US, they sprayed the LSS wheels black and put them on the Exige.
And as has been related here many times, for a time in the Spring of 05 Lotus could not get the LSS wheels, so for a few months Elise's ordered with the Sport Pack had these substituted instead (in silver or black), with $500 knocked off the price of the sport package, as these wheels fall in between the base and LSS wheels in weight. You can order these wheels through Lotus at a cost of about $1800 or so a set. |
