the truth cannot be given with novacaine i guess, but i know it hurts.
I know that your post is not too well researched either. just look up the thread where a small block of wood on the road totaled an exige by damaging the ALUMINUM chassis.
cstetter;809247 if you dont like my posts, just put me on your ignore list like a grown up, otherwise TS, and deal with it.
there are more reasons to be on this forum than being a Lotus cheerleader.
beleive it or not, there is some really good info on tools, tracks, and lots of other stuff.
sorry your panties get bunched up so easily.
We're a little touchy, aren't we?

If I ignored you, I would miss all your pearls of wisdom on track days versus racing and how you never go 1 mile over the speed limit.

I'm speaking from my experience, you are speaking from yours.

The guys you mention above don't show up in every thread and say the same thing over and over again like you do. Got nothing else to say? Oh - wait - yes, you do: It's so awesome how you can hit something in your spec Miata and fix it with a sledgehammer and a can of paint. You said it so often that I can quote you verbatim.

Yawn. Put a different record on.

I'm by no means a cheerleader. I hit a skateboard and cracked the clam. I got over it. You bought the wrong car for you and sold it - but clearly you are NOT over it.

Don't go away... after the break, we have breaking news where an Arizona man, while trying to win a forum argument, actually don panties to prove panties do easily bunch up on men.

An eye witness saw the whole thing when a car-to-car pissing match turned into a person-to-person pissing match.

Man folks, don't try this at home.

nice driving there with that skateboard
Sounds like with the amount of attention you pay to where you are going you should keep a low deductable on your policy.
the Elise was the right car at the right time for me. its was good for HPDE, but thats about it(IMO, and not even that great of a choice for that because of its fragility and lack of insurance from providers for on-track events). It got me back into roadracing, so it served its purpose quite well. I dont hate the car at all, i just think its amazing when someone shares an opinion of the car thats not in tune with the flock of sheep that SOME are on this forum, that they get bent out of shape.
The guys was asking about buying the car, so i gave him my opinion as a past owner of the car, and from my reading of others experience(i.e. wood>Exige).
if this forum is only going to want to have "buy the lotus" as its answer to potential new buyers, it makes this place not much of a "valid" resource for info for new owners.
To use your example you hit a skateboard,( yes a skateboard) and did thousands in damage to the car, Yet you still claim the car is not fragile.
someone else hits a skateboard in a different car, and how much damage can one expect to their car.
thank you for proving my point, and making yourself sound like you have no clue about the advice you are giving.

to address this, i have a clean driving record for 25 + years, and i earn my living with my drivers license, so i am on the road allot, that speaks for itself.
I would imagine my trying to help people with trackdays and such is not really relevant to you, if your running over skateboards, your likely a liabilty on the track to everyone else anyway so i doubt it would have any relevance to you.

you remind me of the crowd of idiots out there who scream for free speech, unless its something they dont agree with.
Sorry you not able to ignore my posts if they bother you that much, it says worlds about your maturity level (not that i claim to be the most mature person here by anymeans).
sounds like your more pissed about paying your ins. deductable from a bonehead thing like hitting a skateboard than anything else. Maybe you have the wrong car?
truthfully, i would like to argue with you, but when one allows himself to get into an arguement with idiots, it gets hard to tell who the idiot is.

If someone crunches the front end of my Exige, I would rather the insurance company pay for a new front clam than have them fix my Porsche with bondo.

Porsche makes the best sport daily drivers and Lotus makes the most enjoyable cars to drive for the price. If you have a second car, get a Lotus. If you can only have 1 car, most people are better off with a Porsche.

I love how easily you get all riled up and resort to personal attacks. Come on, throw a few more my way and maybe I can do everybody a favor and get you banned. This is just too easy

Let's see - so far you called me an idiot and immature - come on surely you can do better than that

LOL

just because someone posts something that is different than your point of view, that doesnt make them a "nay-sayer".
For the record, in post #21 you were the one who would have seemingly attacked me "threw the first punch "so to speak(not that i care) as this post does seem to be a bit hostile.
Challanging someone, and then resorting to trying to get them banned.
I stand by my observation that your panties are bunched up, thanks for proving my point.

In a Cayman S, you'd have to explain over and over again why not a Carrera or why not the Tiptronic.

In an Exige S, anyone asking those types of questions must be driving a Tiptronic Cayman S.

That's awesome! I removed my Gayman badge, but I do that with all of my Porsches, Lotus too. I'm the type who would put a G over the C myself because it is pretty darn funny. If your co-worker got really pissed then he must really be trying to prove something with his car.

So was this really a troll post? If so, I sure fell for it. Will the OP please reply with feedback of our feedback.

The Cayman S is a great car; I would not be ashamed of it. The average Joe thinks it is the latest and greatest Carrera anyway (not that anyone should care what Joe thinks).

Mr. Fishy is right that the Cayman is probably a better choice for overall durability if you are going to use it as a daily driver. However, I find the Exige S to be at least 2 notches above the Cayman S in the "fun to drive" department. Besides, I keep a stapler and a can of CO spray paint in the trunk at all times. The stapler is much easier to use than the sledgehammer, and it weighs a lot less too!

In about 2 months (if all goes well), I will have a 997 GT3; it will be VERY interesting to see how it compares to the Caymans S and Exige S. If it is not more fun to drive than the Exige S, then it will immediately go up for sale, and the new '08 Exige S ordered on the same day.

Indeed. It (and Z4M) was on my list. Until I test drove the Elise. However even if Elise/Exige didn't exist, I'd probably be driving a Z4M because in the end, I can't stand Porsche marketing-over-engineering move. I had very high respect for Porsche since 1980's. That respect was well earned but they lost me with 996, Cayenne and Cayman. Boxster was understandable in my book but the marketing guy won on the Cayman - $5k more over a comparably equipped Boxster?!? For that kind of money, I was expecting more in the Cayman S. I hate been insulted.

I can believe that! I consider my Elise to be 1 notch above the Cayman S (between 0 - 120mph).

You are one lucky B* - wish I have the time to indulge in that kind of toys. Maybe when my 2 kids are off to college.

Hey, you know something about the '08 Exige S that we don't?
