Exige/ top off

Has any one taken the top off the exige and if so do you have any photos.
Also has any one driven one with limited slip. I'm trying to decide if I should have this option. I was in one for the first time today and it was very comfortable. I was a bit surprised that it was not more difficult to get in and out of. It was in the show room so if it that comfortable to sit in it must be great to drive.
Thanks

I took it off to fix a squeak (and failed, btw). I do have some pics, I'll post them later.

Almost a month now. Great car, love driving it. I've only had minor problems: squeaking top, top not fitting that well, small water leaks from the windows, and a rattle from the dash. Only thing I wish the car had was a cup holder (booo! hisssss!) and more power.

Several cup-holders out there for Elise, just do a search on this board.

If the connections are pins basically sliding sideways into
the flared rear section, as is the case with the gullwing, I
found that the fiberglass on the rear portion of the gullwing
panels would come in contact with the sidewall of the flared
(rear) sections. This prompted me to glue thin rubber (washer
like) grommets on the side wall of the rear-flared section and
since the grommets had a hole in the center, the sliding pin
coming out of the gull wing panel still could do its insertion
thing. I used Stick n' Seal gel which can be easily removed with
glue remover (Oops), if the need ever arises, and allowed 24
hours for it to really get a good hold.

I haven't actually seen an Exige yet, so forgive me if this is a dumb question. Is the "removeable" top on the Elise and Exige identical? Can you remove the hardtop on the Exige in the exact same way you remove the hardtop on the Elise (i.e. remove header, use special wrench, remove bolts, etc.)?

Thanks

It looks just as good with the top off. I had a dealer tell me it does not look good with the top off and if I was going to drive it with the top off I should by the elise. Thanks for the photos. What suspension do you have and do you have limited slip?

I don't have the track pack, so the suspension is the same as what is on a Elise with the LSS option (from what I understand). No LSD.

Interesting...the attachment points for the soft top ribs are in the Exige windshield header and not in the roll bar cover. I guess they didn't want to spend extra to manufacture and carry a separate header trim piece.

I noticed that some European cars have the mount points on the roll bar cover. I wonder if this was an aftermarket addition?

Yes - some dealers in the UK offer it, (it being the two little holes and grommets).
