Question Extension for 07 Exige roof air scoop?

I searched, but couldn’t find anything, so hope it’s not a repost.
I was wondering if anybody is manufacturing or thought of manufacturing the extension for 07 Exige roof air scoop, so it extends to the windshield, just like 08+ models. I think it shouldn’t be hard to produce and install (using double sticking tape or glue maybe?) and would be much cheaper solution then replacing the roof. The peace could be either painted to match the color, or personally, I’d install it if it’s made of CF even without repainting.
The benefits: much improved airflow to the intercooler and better looking car, IMO.

Better looking car, maybe. Much improved airflow, no.

See: 2007 Exige S Intercooler Air Flow Study

There is one solution that "adds" a mohawk that extends past the rear edge of the roof, and over the clam. You have to cut open the top of the clam and the roof duct and then integrate the mohawk into it. Advantage: you eliminate the bottleneck at the roof/clam interface. Disadvantage: you can no longer take off the roof (easily). Others have cut open the inside of the Cup roof and run ducting through the rear window (not the glass version, either polycarbonate or CF) and directly into the roof duct in the engine compartment.

must be discontinued then.

Reverie makes a roof scoop extension also. It looks different than the stock intake. Check sector111.com the have it, i believe.

Thanks,
What Sector111 has is rather a new air scoop, which requires pretty complicated installation (cutting out the old scoop). It must be cost prohibitive.
I was thinking about extending the existing one..

oh, just half a piece like I've seen on S1 Exiges. Nope, never seen one like that for a S2 Exige.

Someone gave you the wrong information. It is an RLS product, and Prototype Composites makes them for us.

The Mohawk in the photos of this thread is the RLS Mohawk scoop.

Thank you. Are there any side view pictures? I also would like to see the close up of the back part. How does it blend with the roof?

If you follow the link a few posts above, you will see a photo from both the front side and the back side. It can either be bonded in place, or it can be blended into the roof to make it look like an integral piece. Obviously that involves a lot more labor.

I read the whole thread, it seems like both pictures are taken from the front. What I meant before, I'd like to see the close up of how the back part of mohawk blends/connects with the roof, not how to install it (btw, I'd just bond it, not blend). Any side veiw pics?

Thank you

Ah, gotcha. No side view picks and the Mohawk is made to order, don't have one on the shelf unfortunately. They look good enough to be in a magazine, however!
