I think it's mostly the fact that she has no clue what she's gotten herself into.

Don't parallel park!

Enjoy the new car.

Cool car! I'd like see a picture of you and your horse jumping over the car, but I realize it is probably too dangerous. Enjoy your Exige.

You are required to post more pics! (umm, of the car, of course)

Wow way to be a dick, she asked a simple question that she did not know. Difference is she is trying to learn about a car she bought, hmm. The only reason you bring up age my guess is that she is not a 50 year old male trying to be cool picking up the 20 or even 16 year old girls.

Oh ya btw I am 25 myself and I own and drive a 900rwhp car

I know what I've gotten myself into. I know cars and I know aftermarket cars. I owned a 450 awhp EVO 8 and know what I'm getting into. I just thought I saw a picture of a front storage space, my f***in bad. So quit ragging on me for asking a question, that's normally why we have forums though. And I know how those cars are, run it hard and put it back in a garage and love it. Plus I'm not completely retard with working on cars and keeping up maintenance. So everyone just chill. Also for Uncle Sam, my horse is capable of jumping over something that big, haha considering those cars aren't very high. I have seen professionals jump the car that they won after a show, it's pretty sweet, I'm sure you can look it up on youtube. haha

I fail to see the humor in this question...

Also, I'm not sure how this has any positive bearing on your credibility. But if we're taking cars into account, Cory's Peel P50 trumps your Supra any day of the week.

as a new member on the forum its amazing to see how many rude people there are. More than any past forums i have used. Someone asks a simple question and it turns into 2 pages of people saying a girl doesnt know what car she has bought and how it will be crashed soon. It puts me off asking any questions here. Maybe its the superiority that comes with lotus driving in which case i might have to rethink what car to buy for fear of turning into the same.

I was sceptical about posting my first thread for fear of similar retorts. Heres hoping owning a lotus wont turn me into a similar character.

@m.barnes

Do not worry about that, a car won't change your character,
it needs more than that

@ A8r9b

Read the manual, and wish u lots of fun with your Lotus,
you will love it

Also add Porsche and Audi to the list of cars to avoid then. Perhaps a Fiat Qubo would be a good choice?

I like to believe that the forum is filled with knowledgable people who are here to help. Most times this is true. Sometimes however....

Most of us on this forum are true car enthusiasts. We research a car before be buy. Lotus is a mark with a deep, rich automotive history that I believe should be owned by someone who appreciates it. The handling, engineering and spirit of this car are wasted on a girl that "just got" the car and thinks it has storage space under the "hood" based on a picture she had seen. It would be like me getting some fine breed of horse and asking; Where do I put the dipstick?

This is the first negative comment I have made on any forum and I apologize- This post just irritated me and I couldn't let it go.

Bah - this probably just bothers me because I wish I could have had a car like this when I was 20.

WTF? Are you serious?

I don't see the correlation here at all. Many cars do have storage space under the "hood." Several Ferraris come to mind. No breed of horse comes with a dipstick. Stupid analogy. It would be more like you getting a fine breed of Arabian and asking if it can walk like a Tennessee.

Just because she doesn't know as much as you think you do about Lotus doesn't mean that the car is wasted on her.

I'm guessing spot on.

To the OP: Enjoy your new car. Stick around here, learn to use the ignore function and many of the @$$hat comments immediately become invisible. There is a lot of knowledge already here on the forum. There is much more knowledge available from the members when you ask questions.

I am her room mate and I am sorry about getting mad in my post last night. Yes she is 20 years old but she is responsible and she did do research and the car before she bought it is just hard to learn about EVERY thing before you buy any car. Mommy and daddy did not buy this car for her it was with her own money, and after looking into her possibilities the Exige was a far superior car for what she wanted, and trust me she did not buy the car for it's storage space.

This forum has grown quite a bit, so there are new characters here who aren't very cordial. However that is the exception, NOT the rule.

I think you'll find Lotus owners to be a nice group of people, and some of the nicest, and most helpful are right here on this board. Don't judge a board, or Lotus owners as a whole, by a few posts. You'd be doing yourself a disservice.

Cheers
Jennifer Tipton
