Mommy and daddy did not buy this car for her it was with her own money, and after looking into her possibilities the Exige was a far superior car for what she wanted, and trust me she did not buy the car for it's storage space.
Tell her to stick around, we are not all bad or *******s. It might take her awhile to get used to the sarcasm though

Yep - the middle section with the bonnet vents was one piece on the S1 and was hinged. Binned as too expensive and replaced with the joys of hex bolts.

Not being a dick... Stay on this site for a few years and see all the new people who sign up and ask the dumbest questions or questions that are asked every day...It gets really old fast. Every day we get a new person on here asking if they can use the car for a daily driver....they should read as much as they can and learn about it before buying it..

Also, I will stick to my statement that you shouldnt buy a car that you dont know if the front opens up...that is something you should have checked out at the dealership BEFORE buying...she didnt know what she was getting into...lets see how long she has the car before she gets sick of it or something happens... Again, this happens all the time.

I dont how your age or or how much HP your car puts out has anything to do with it... but if you want to go there....Im 30 and my my car has a whole 5 HP...

Oh ya btw I am 25 myself and I own and drive a 900rwhp car

I've seen one Enzo in real life. When I saw it I realized it doesn't have electric windows (window winders!) and it does have a trunk in the front. I still would have bought it not knowing these things.

You are the one who brought up age referring to the fact that she is too young for the car. I was stating the fact that age has nothing to do with how well you drive cars that have power nor does sex

I don't personally know Cory1000, but I believe he intended to imply that she might be in for a rude awakening when someone taps the bumper at 1mph, or accidentally leans on the car wrong and cracks the paint/fiberglass.. etc etc

He just came off as rude because this post bears many similarities to alot of posts over his time here, which I assume, generally turn out badly in the end(for the unfortunate new owner, that is).

Poking fun at someone for being ill informed ( not saying it's the case here as it went a bit overboard) is one thing. But my radar started to pick up a hint of misogynistic overtone. If it's directed at one person who deserves it, it's one thing. But broad strokes.....that's when I start opening the pop top on my can of whoop arse.

I was a good girl though. I didn't make any smart assed retorts, nor Supra jokes or Isetta/messerschmitt/micro car hp comments.

Yes, I did bring up age (not HP....you brought that up...), but the reason that I brought it up was because of the fact that we see this around here all the time. All the time we see some 20 year old buys a Lotus and the either cant afford it, crashes it, doesnt realize that its not a honda civic and that you have more expenses involved, that it can get more negative attention and a whole list of other things...

It seems to me that if you dont know that there is no "trunk" in the front that there are many other things that you dont know about the car and really dont know what you are getting into... im sure many others will agree to that fact.

I put it more bluntly then others but thats just who I am...

Well, I at least answered the question. I was being a smartass, but I didn't put anyone down.

I didn't know anything about Lotus when I bought the car. It was purely spontaneous. But I started reading and such immediately. 15 months and 19,000 miles later, I still go out to the garage to just smile at it.

Funny how people's "on forum" personna's can be completely in contrast to their "in person" persona (Think Ronin/ Frank).
I was around Cory a bit when he ran with us at the Lotus Challenge Series events. Couldn't meet a nicer guy, but practically every post he makes here seems to be intentionally mean spirited and written specifically for the purpose of humiliating the op. And...he no longer owns a Lotus so it seems as though he just circles around here like a shark waiting for the scent of blood in the water....Now it'll be my turn.

Hey, go back and read his posts. Haven't done a pie graph but I would guess that 90% are just designed to make people feel like losers. How many posts are helpful or informative? And this guy built an awesome car. He has a lot to contribute. Maybe I'm just getting old but seriously, what's the point?

No hood on the Exige S, just a couple of access panels for brake fluid and remote battery terminals and fuses. Storeage is in the trunk (rear) -- it gets hot in there so I wouldn't suggest storing food items.

If she plans to track the car, please do read up on engine failure threads and what track prep work you might want to consider before taking the car to the track.

Lotus owners manual is pretty good, but I haven't read every page either.

Don't take comments/jokes/etc. to Heart, now go enjoy the car.

Rob.

lolwut? If anything this forum tends to be very welcoming to women. Do a search for "I'm new here" posts by women and you'll notice they're about 10 pages longer than one made by a guy.
