Awesome, I just found out Exiges could do this. So apart from the more aggressive packages offered on the Exige, as well as different seats and exterior trim, what sets the Exige and Elise apart?

I always thought the Exige had a permanently fixed roof (fixed as in welded) and that gave the chassis a stiffer torsional rigidity.

There goes your warranty, Bob!

Watch that the anoraks don't catch you running topless.

It's kinda tough to weld fiberglass.

The bodywork is not a structural component on either the Exige or the Elise.

Ah you're right...so is it the aerodynamics and suspension, rather than the chassis, that sets the Elise and Exige apart (in terms of performance)

There isn't a huge performance gap between the Exige and Elise. The Elise is quicker 0-60 and I think has a slightly higher top speed.

The difference between an Elise with the sport pack and the standard Exige (which includes the sport pack) is really the aero package with greater downforce as speed increases - about 8 times the Elise's at 100 mph.

Georgeous car Bob! I don't care what anyone says, the Exige looks amazing with the roof off. Also, the base Exige wheels on cars over the pond while heavy, sure are great looking.
