Hard time plugging in my battery tender

I have an aftermarket spoiler. It prevents a big dude like me to reach into my big trunk and plug in my Batt-Tender.
Is there another way to do this? Perhaps flipping the batt side-ways , so that the pos+ and neg- and pointing to the right. And if i do this, does it have to be a dry-cell batt ?
Any other alternatives ?
Thanks for your thoughts

CHeers,
George

Mine has a "pig tail" that I just plug the other end into.... only fits in one way -- the correct way.

I use that same pig tail (supplied by Battery Tender), permanently connected to the terminals. It extends out about a foot or so and makes my winter time connection much easier.

I use the Battery Tender Plus, but I purchased through Motorcycle Accesory Warehouse, rather than Battery Tender's site. It's cheaper through MAW.

BATTERY TENDER BATTERY CHARGERS

Battery Tender Plus 12 Volt #0210128

I've used them for years (one for the Lotus; oner for the Fiat)-They both are still working perfectly.

The Battery Tender Junior will also work on the Lotus, and it's even cheaper.

You could always make up a cable with a polarized connector (get one at Radio Shack, etc.) that you can leave on the floor of the trunk when not in use
(an inline fuseholder, as shown, is recommended):

You can charge thru the cigarette lighter plug using the Battery Tender adapter seen here: Battery Tender - 081-0069-5 - Cigarette Adapter, Quick Disconnect - Black

(I also purchased a 12 foot extension cord they make and close the door gently on the cord as part of the "exit contortion.")

You can also get two conductor connector that plug into the ones on Battery Tender Jrs. and Battery MINDers at your local RV supply store. They are like the ones used for trailer lights but with only two (I had to get one to connect the third brake light on a pickup "camper shell"). The one I bought had a connector on each end and about 6 feet of red and black wire. Cut off the end you don't need, and you have a 6 foot lead. It was about $2...

I hooked mine to the battery posts under the left access panel by the windshield. The pigtail just lays there by the bottom of the windshield, out of sight. All I do is grab it and plug it in. Simple!

I connect my accumate through the cigarette lighter fitting inside the car - its always live. Much better than fiddling with battery terminals.
