Hi Ho Silver! New Exige owner.
Hi folks -
I've been lurking about a bit, and since I picked up my new (to me) 06 Exige today, I thought I'd introduce myself. This car started out as an airplane. I'd always wanted to build a plane, but over the last year I came to realize it's very poor timing and will be for a while. No space to build, no convenient airfields, don't want to get wrapped up in a years-long project, already tied up in a years-long house remodel, etc. So I thought I'd look at building a car. I started tame, but soon was dreaming of wicked track stars. Such as: http://www.race-car-replicas.com/rcrp.html But still, location and time are problems now. So I started looking at turnkeys, and I came across the Atom and was a hair away from putting in my order. But I need a car that I can get a bit of practical use from. I commute from MA to NJ a few times a month. Usually I fly but eight or ten times a year timing and weather tell me to just hop in the car and blast down. So I was trying to convince myself I could make the Atom an occaisional commuter . I drove down during the flooding this spring and came to my senses. (The price hike put it out of reach anyway). But on the Atom forum, I learned about Lotus. I corresponded with Shinoo, who steered me to these pages and this whacked-out group. One of the things I liked about the Atom was the enthusiasm of the owners' group, and I see the same here. It's not just that the ET members are into their cars, it's the way they dig everybody else's Lotus enthusiasm too. Cool. So I shopped a bit and bought an Exige. Most of you have probably seen it; it was owned by KingOfJericho. Here's a shot anyway:![]() I got about three and a half hours of driving in (still smiling) today. A quote from a passenger: "Oh, my God! That's...that's...whoa!" after a visit to power cam world. ![]() Anyway, whether you guys knew it or not, you talked me into this... Thanks! (And what the hell is the significance of a rope-skipping sheep?)

Thanks, folks.
I'm currently bidding for next year's vacation times, and LOG28 is on the list. If that works out, I'm there. Mods: Just a couple cosmetics at first. I'd like to improve the look of the gray plastic console and A/C surround; probaby just a simple paint job to complement the tasteful Arctic Silver. Any input would be welcome. The car has steel braided brake lines and Fujita intake. I'll keep the exhaust stock until I decide if I will add forced induction. Before I get that far I will need: Driver mods: HP driving tutelage. Any recommendations for western MA? Track time! ![]() House mods: I need to reconfigure our tiny back patio to include a parking spot. Until then the car is at a neighbor's barn.

Not sure. I have a deposit down for a BMW 135i but I am thinking about pulling it back. The lease is up on my Altima in July which I am certainly not keeping so when that day comes I'll make a final decision. Out of all of the cars I've had the one I miss the most is the Infiniti G35 Coupe. It was very usable and fun and I wasn't so paranoid about it (the only downside to Lotus ownership). If I can find a G Coupe that I like for the right price I may just pick up one of those, buy a house, then call it a day for a little while. The truth is that I have no idea what's next... but I can almost guarantee it will never be as fun as the Exige was.

Seems like you're looking for just one car. 135i would be my choice for a single car if you need the utility and usability.
Make sure your next car can keep up on that great route you gave me (I've never managed to complete it )Best wishes. Hopefully you can return to Lotus ownership some day!
