How to lift the hatch/bonnet if the tailgate wing is not in-place?

I tried lifting the bonnet with out holding the wing and it was
TERRIBLY HARD!

I am looking into install the spoiler on the clem, so.....

How do you guys who has their wing installed on the clem and/or wing-less
opens the bonnet?

The tiny gap between the bonnet and the clem is just unreachable with my fingers...got used to lifting it up holding my wing

This brings a "?????" to me how to lift the bonnet on the 2010 Exige
And the access-ability must be poor to the trunk with the wing on the clem right?

I removed my wing and the rear cover was so light without it, it opened on it's own.

I keep the wing off when I drive on the street. Only put it on for the track. If I give the release lever a hard, fast pull, the hatch pops up almost an inch. If yours doesn't, maybe the post on the hatch (with the spring) is adjustable so you can tighten it down a bit, thereby increasing the spring tension which should cause the hatch to pop up further when you release it.

yeah I think I got the spring to the hardest since I got alot of trunk opening issue. (not popping up b4)

Lets try that again

That's what I'm planning. Do you folks who delete the wing have some kind of trim to cover the 'slots' where the wing pillars normally mount, or is it not noticeable?

I have an Exige. When the wing is removed there are 4 small holes where the screws that secure the wing pass through (it's mounted on the engine cover). I got 4 small rubber stoppers from the hardware store. I wet them a bit to make them slippery and push them into the holes from above. I can get them close to flush, leaving just enough to grip to be able to remove. They're hardly noticeable. I can put the wing on or off in about 5 minutes. (I have the Reverie Carbon Fiber).

It pops ajar on the 2010 just like any other S2 Exige. You have to open it VERY carefully by getting your fingers underneath the lip and lifting up.

The weight is a little less without the wing attached since 2010's put that Celica-llike spoiler through the clam.

S1 Exiges have the same problem.... the number of times I've caught my fingers between the hatch and rear wing then begun swearing....

If anything its harder to CLOSE the wing cause the shock now has more pressure then the weight of the clam. When my hands are full I have to push the shock with one hand push the clam down far enough with my jaw to clear the catch.

But of course with the wing its just heavy enough to clear the catch.
