Hey All,
I'm doing some research on buying an Exige S240. I have a few of questions a hope you guys might be able to answer and lead me in the right direction. 1. What are the differences between a 2006/2007 Lotus Exige S and 2008/2009 Lotus Exige S 240? 2. What are the service intervals? How much does service cost? 3. Common problems or Issues with the 2008 Lotus Exige S 240? Thanks alot everyone!! I look forward to contributing to this form. Soon to be an Exige Driver , Raj Seekumar |

Just to clarify your question, NO 2006 Exige was supercharged. Thats why they are just called "Exige". Every year after that had the supercharger and as such are called "Exige S". Horsepower has increased every year (through upgraded packages sometimes) 220 for 2007, 240 for 2008 and 260 for 2009. 2007's and above also got the painted extras on the exterior and ever growing larger roof scoop.
If street driven, service is no different than a Honda Civic. Just replace the oil normally and check for loose stuff when you hear rattles. 240S doesnt really have any specific problems I can think of, just the usual "quarks" that all of us have. There may have been some issues here and there with the ECU software now that I think of it, but it was hit and miss and Lotus will reflash it for you if it hasnt already been done by a previous owner.
