The Exige is a sick car for autocross, I was running a 58.8 my first couple runs and on my second 4 run's a managed to cut 4 seconds off my lap time and drop to a 54.4 and 55's consecutively. I have not done an Autocross event for over 10 years so I was pretty stoked! For comparisons sake a professional driver who was there was running 51's flat in a BMW M3. There was also another driver there witn an Elise running slicks who was in the low 50's as well. Anyone who hasnt done some sort of trackday or Autocross event with their Elise/Exige is really missing out.
I was driving sloppy and loosing the tail pretty ofter on runs so I cant wait to get more practice. So in Three weeks of ownership I have covered both the 1/4 mile and Autocross. Next stop is the track ![]()

The Exige S is a great track car as well. You won't believe how deep you can drive into a corner before breaking. Be careful of hitting curbs at high speed, it will put a lot of energy into your suspension and bounce you off the track.
Get some track day pads and a CG lock from Sector 111 before you go. The porterfield r4 pads did well at VIR for me last week. |
