2 oranges, burnt orange is new
Saffron yellow is back
Polar blue replaced with "liquid blue"
I dont know what color it is, but top right looks sweet, i am guessing it is replacing NFB?
Is krypton green renamed/changed?

I dont see A. purple, autumn gold, one of the greens, ???

top right corner is prism green new.....not easy to see as its dark the colour is a very light met green.
bronze must be the burnt orange/kinda bronze not like CO.
purple...persian blue...looks a little purple in real life.
ice white is pearlescent...but looks very dull...very strange...

i looked at the ice white behind the scenes on a finished europa....
...not to sure what to make of it....the wife loved it.

Hmmmm.........

Disappointed that the greens are gone.
The Prism Green doesn't seem to be too exciting.

I do like the Liquid Blue quite a bit though.

oh, you're still keeping the 05? Yes, I must get either reflash or ForcedFed's kit. 285hp will be awesome. Plus you're making about 30 more HP down low from 3k and up on the standard S.

Ara--I believe the Big brake kit runs ~$2800 and a new Cup255 roof painted runs ~$3,200 (perhaps a bit more) if purchased after the fact from the dealer for those that want to upgrade their '07's. Of course, you could sell your old items and reduce the total outlay of cash when the time is right.
I think the brake kit is less now. Also, ForcedFed sells AP Racing kit for about $2300. I spoke to Mike at SS about pricing the cup roof and I was quoted $3900!!

I am in disbelief.

We have speculated SO much about the '08 changes to Lotuses...and all you do is a simple factory visit and answer all of our questions. It's like ... I was anticipating a huge announcement with drama and uproar to follow and you just casually answer all of our questions with a simple post Wow.

Now my concerns are...

1) How do '07 S owners feel about this? Do they feel alienated because Lotus keeps coming with huge upgrades the following years or does it make them happy having something to upgrade to? This happened to original Exige owners as well and some were not pleased.

2) Poor Elise owners...we never get anything

3) CHILLI RED IS GONE????? I AM SO MAD !!!!!!!!!!!!

not bothered at all, lotus has brought out new models every year so far, i traded in my elise to an elise to an exige to an S, the new S just isn't different enough, i'd like the roof and the brakes, but thats all and those are easily attainable.

If they'd make the new S like the Gt3 i'd consider another trade in but the front of it isn't appealing to me as i thought it would be, so far the S is awesome.

Hope they keep doing it, as i'd like them to stick around and not be like the void between early 90s and 2000s'

Excellent work! Great pics.

So is the `08 240hp engine the same engine as the `07 with a reflash?

If so, will dealers offer this reflash to `07 S owners? Or is it a whole new ECU?

That's true. There's no doubt it will help their business cause. You can afford to please customers in that way after you are in the black.

And if it's just a reflash like you said, I don't see why they won't offer it to current S owners. Now everyone is happy

And yes composite i believe was selling the cf cup roofs for around $4500.
No, Lotus sells a scoop extension that is standard on the curren 'S' but is absent on the N/A Exige. It is roughly the size of the A/C surround in the cabin, and Lotus (tries to) retail it for over $400.

No Cup roof extension. sorry for the confusion.

Nothing new about this at all. The orginal BMW Z3's were 4 cylinder. Year two they went to six, and power kept going up each year after that. How'd the original Z owners feel.

Ditto the current Vette. The base 08 C6 gets something like 50 more hp than the 07. The base Viper (if there is such a thing) gets 90 more hp I believe.

ALL car companies, especially performance cars, add a little something to the mix each year.

!
To me, you have to look at a Lotus purchase like you would a computer or flat panel TV - you've got to know something much better is going to be available the next year. And if you're always waiting for the next year's model, then you'll never be able to enjoy this years.

The Viper had been the same since '03 in terms of power and 'Vette was the same since '05. Just saying.

I was just saying I was surprised at how easily this info. was obtained. But very happy to hear it. I know there are many people who prefer factory provided power as opposed to aftermarket solutions.

I'm surprised no one else has mentioned this. Finally, they will be able to appease the ninnies who say the car doesn't even have a single cup holder. But, I think my knew might go into that space when I drive. I'll be checking my perceived clearance this morning.

The design looks pretty good, and easily modifiable if you tend to drink from tall/narrow cups. Like maybe a water bottle. Hmm, I could probably get a friend of mine to machine me something like that. Hmmm.....

I don't understand the excitement about the cup holder, especially since it's the same one as in the Elise premium pack. I would be very surprised if you couldn't fit it to a 07 Exige.

Exactly right, Charlie!

Before you buy the '08 S, you might want to consider the '09 S (not the widebody GT3 version) since the '09 S will have more power and a larger I/C and fuel pump and air box......now where would that come from.....???.

All of these model upgrades have been obvious and based upon earlier limited production special models, so none of this should be a surprise, IMHO.

And, I think it's great that Lotus is keeping the excitement going by making performance changes from year to year.
