Lotus Exige 2009 260 'S'

Hi all....PRESS release for you below from the Manufacturer this very morning :

Lotus Cars USA, Inc. is please to announce the “Lotus Exige 260”. This latest variant of the renounced Exige lineup takes the Lotus engineering philosophy of “Performance through Lightweight” to the extreme for the street. With a substantial increase in horsepower, the generous use of carbon fiber components and the elimination of several non-essential items from this vehicle, performance and handling are taken to new heights.
Planned production for the North American spec. Lotus Exige 260 is currently set at 50 units. Vehicles will be identically equipped, with the only options being exterior color and StarShield.

Now, I have an allocation for one , maybe two....They will be specified and pre ordered very quickly so please call me if you want one and I will email the public ordering guide to you...Won't take long to order one on paper though, as star sheild and the exterior color are the only choices !

Cheers.... Adrian Hill / Lotus St. Louis / 636-449-0000 / adrian@bentleystl.com

Cool, I'm glad they are limiting to 50. Should keep resale high and leftovers on dealer lots low

Still no word on weight. It was stated to be almost 200 lbs less than the S240.

Pricing is better than I would have expected (compared to a fully optioned S240), considering all the CF bits, new lighter wheels, seats, interior, etc. - I am going to take a look at it this Saturday, but undoubtedly, there will be more pics and info up on Thursday after the preview.

I wonder if this is just the Exige Cup 260, but marketed to North America instead of Europe?

Thanks for the price and specs!!

Are the "Black Leather & Cloth sport seats with Probax anatomical padding" the same seats that are in the photos posted? To bad they left the AC in. We'd be all over one if we could get painted one solid color, not big on how the CF black bits look or the decals

seems pretty well equipped for the price, accusump for the street huh.

no point having a rear window you can't see out, helps with cockpit noise/temps too.

spectre, yes 265

I'm assuming accusump is a dry sump system... which I dig but like you said its overkill for street use

It is in the Cup cars, so maybe it was more costly to delete in in assembly process than add it, like A/C. Ooops, Charlie's got it - it all about the $$$!
