I have been told there are some production issues with the seats - supposedly the new carbon fiber backing on them is taking longer than expected or something.
I agree that this isn't a good sign that we are 5 months into Lotus's model year (starting in Oct of 08) and I haven't seen an 09 yet. Sounds like they are still trying to sell the Exiges at the port. I am afraid Lotus is going to have their hands full trying to push 50 units of production of these here - let alone the Elises and Exige 240's. If I were a dealer, I wouldn't be ordering these unless someone came in, put a deposit down and placed the order. |

And I don't think the US cars will be labeled as 260 "Cup". The pictures of the Exige 260 at the LA show didn't say Exige on it or have the S decals on the sides. I do wonder if the actual delivered cars will lack that labeling. Also - I see the European car has CUP 260 in the seats and where the passenger air bag is - the US show car didn't have any of that. Instead we have HANS on the seat??? People are going to think it is a Lotus Hans when they look in the car.

Ok then! It seems that Europe will keep the "Cup 260" for its cars! ; )
btw, the HANS logo exists on all cars, cup-labeled or not!. I guess they won't be confortable for big frame drivers, not to mention that they won't be as confortable as ProBax seats are already!  |
