I have no idea what practical purpose launch control serves.... I can tell you if its not your daily driver the Sector111 motor mounts are the bomb. If it is your daily driver you may not want to go that route particularly if you wear dentures........
My car has launch control - dont plan on using it - with these motor mounts, the right suspension settings, alignment & RTD brace the car shifts as solidly and quickly as my Porsche with GT3 rs clutch and light weight flywheel. The Lotus is never going to be a GT3 RSR so lets not pretend - its just the most amazing track car on the planet...

If you have a 240 and you are not feeling it then you are either a slow shifter or not aggresive as us. It is there, now.. someone tell me where that valve is so I can remove it. My shop manual only has '07 info so there is nothing written. I have the same "CDV" valve on my M3.. its the exact same effect/feel.

I'm not a slow shifter...I may be a little less aggressive though, she's still young in my eyes.

Put me in the same boat as Never had a problem shifting.

I shift like schumi and she goes like schumi.

+1 - I have a 2009 260 and haven't noticed any issues with shifting. I came from a 2007 Exige S and had a 2006 NA Exige before that. Although I definately notice the new shifters feel - it has never had a problem with getting into gear. In fact it is a better shifter than the previous two.

So it seems that no one has done this yet..?? and if so why is it that some people feel the lag and others dont, if all the S240 have the CDV then all should have the same problem.

I might not be able to shift as fast as Schumi but i have no problems with other cars...

The race instructor at the track as well felt the lag...

Just guessing here but could it be that those who are experiencing this lag have some kind of issue with the CDV - or maybe those of us who aren't experiencing it aren't shifting in the same conditions to have noticed?

I think the only way to resolve this would be to drive another 08+ 240/260 and see if you do or don't notice the lag.

Get rid of the tube with the cdv .... the difference in clutch engagement and disengagement will be immediately noticeable. It's a very easy fix.

Recently on track coming out of the pit I shifted in to 2nd fully engaged the clutch and punched it - the clutch fully engaged slipped for 10 seconds - to those in the pit it sounded like I missed a shift - when I came back in after a few laps the smell of burnt clutch was unmistakable - called Sector111 and ordered a Ceramic clutch & Fidanza flywheel - which they couldnt deliver so I settled for the Kevlar clutch.
While Mach Motorsports had it apart we talked to Lotus & Sector111 - nobody could confirm the existance of a CDV valve.
Tracked the car at Sebring last weekend and again at PBIR on Wednesday - the new clutch & flywheel performed perfectly
its a mystery unless you come to the conclusion that the stock clutch isnt adequate to begin with...

It is definitely there on all cars with launch control (on the hydraulic line/tube exiting the slave cylinder) ... I've seen it and I've eliminated it. If you have launch control (and therefore a cdv) and you are a trackster who can perform rapid shifts .... you will feel a difference once the cdv is removed.

BTW, I have never used, nor do I intend to use, launch control on my 2-Eleven.

Here is a pic of the CDV off my 2-Eleven and the line I fabricated to replace it. You can just buy a line from toyota. The clutch works much, much better!

What Mr OZ said .... and ..... We need more photos.

Yes, I did eliminate the cdv -- replaced the line with a stock one. The cdv is nothing more than a 'restrictor' added to the stock line/tube, which reduces the flow of hydraulic (brake) fluid into the slave cylinder delaying the responsiveness of the clutch (both engagement and disengagement).

Photos below show the hydraulic line/tube with cdv and a stock tube ...
photo #1-- line/tube w/cdv; photo #2 -- line/tube as found on all cars w/o launch control.

Also, as mentioned above, cdv removal may present a warranty issue for you as you have a street car.
