Moroso Pan Availability

Howdy,

Does anyone know of a retailer that stocks these? I called Moroso and was sent to Summitt, they don't have them. The local Moroso guys don't have them either.

Thanks in advance!

Tom, let us know if it leaky or if you are doing anything to prevent (or did Paul Fink check in some way)? Also, in some models the side without the sump is more shallow than others. Thanks!

It sounds like Moroso makes them as they receive the orders, so you'l get the latest version. It took about 3 weeks after the order to receive the pan. Looking at the welds, I can't imagine how the pan could leak; it has both inside and outside TIG welded joints at almost all joints. I will add a heli-coil at the drain port before install, and think it will be trouble free. ( I hope!) All in all, a very nice bit of workmanship.

If you search, there have been many cases of leaky pans. A lot were due to flatness. They may have cleared that up by now.

The new Moroso pan's mating flange has been surfaced after fabrication; looks like a swirl, surface plane pattern. I'm guessing this is to address the problem from the past pan's leaking at the engine joint. If I could master the ability to resize photo's I'd show it, but I can't seem to do it. It has trap doors in all four directions, as well as the windage plate, which was a big reason I went with the pan. Overall, it is very well made, and I look forward to having it installed. ( due to work, and travel, won't go on till March)

I've got a new one (never used/installed) in the box available for $400 plus actual shipping costs ... shipped from LA.

Let me know if interested.

This is what my pan looked like before installation. It's been in for over 6 months; absolutely no leaks.

My Moroso pan looked just like the above picture, but it was seriously warped on the mating surface from the welding process. I took it to a machine shop and had them surface mill/grind it for perfect flatness. Just make sure to get all of the milling/grinding shavings out afterwards!

  2. gasket compound
  3. or both

Thanks

No gasket, just the Toyota FIPG (Form In Place Gasket) compound.

EDIT: Make sure that you seal the bungs that you're not using (there are two of them on the pan). They will likely leak otherwise...
