New Exige Owner! - LotusTalk

I just wanted to formally say hello to the community... HELLO!

I have been searching for an Exige for about a year when I came across this one on Ebay. The car was just delivered last week and I love it! My wife and I had our first chance for a drive on Saturday - I'm happy to say she loves it too! I was a bit concerned about the KG color. As it turns out, I don't think I would want any other color. The KG with the black accents looks real nice - to me at least. This car is an exact 180 from the Z06, I almost feel like I'm hurting the Exige when I rev it over 6K! The Z can idle along at 100 mph and you would never know it. I love the Z on the track and can't wait to experience the Exige on the track.

I live in Mentor Ohio, anyone doing Beaverun October 13th? How about Nelsons Ledges this Friday or next? I look forward to meeting some of you guys in person!

Congrats on the great car.

I believe UKPhil is doing the track day at Beaver on the 13th. I may be but may have family conflicts that day.

If you're around on the 14th about 30 of us will be at Beaver Run for a go karting session. I'm sure there's space but pm Lotus Fury if you're interested as he is co-ordinating it all.

No, it's just yawning until about 6200 then it wakes up. You won't hurt it. Congrats on the car.

I agree with the 180 from a Z06. Just drove a 2007 for the first time about 2 weeks ago. Couldn't hear the engine to know when to shift -- had to look at the tach, could talk with the passenger very easily and all of the road bumps were gone...

I believe its considered a suburb of Cleveland, my first roomate in college was from there. Actually its a bit north of Cleveland.

Mentor is about 20 minutes east and little north of Cleveland - right up against Lake Erie in the Snow belt.

congrats...as talked about before, I work in mentor and Wayne "waydui" lives about 10 minutes from there... I wont be able to do any of the events as am still a few weeks away from getting the S back, but up for a drive when she gets here..

Congrats bud, she looks fantastic.

I'd imagine the Z06 is worlds apart. I've driven a few C6 Z06's, and although I was overall very impressed, it feels like more of an overpowered daily driver than anything else to me. Steering didn't wow me. I was impressed with my friends modded C5 Z06, so maybe I just need to drive a modded C6 to be blown away.

I also have a C5 and an 06 Exige. Both are wonderful cars and very different animals. After a weekend in the Lotus the vette feels like a bloated cadillac...but the vette is certainly a torque monster and a hell of a highway car, I'm just glad I am able to have both.

I also feel fortunate to be able to experience both cars. The Corvette is just a beast on the track. I'm sure the lotus will turn slower lap times, but will be a bunch of fun. I'm still having trouble adjusting to the high rev thing on the Lotus - I cringe when I rev it up there, but I'm sure Ill get used to it. The car is a blast! Every morning I go to work, I make it a point to take a peek at the car in the garage. I still can't believe I finally have an Exige.

I'm so glad to hear that you got what exactly the car you want! Evomind (Mike) here on Elisetalk had a Krypton Green Elise that he sold to pick up a Z06. His might be a good resource to compare notes. He has taken both to the track.

I can't participate in the track day due to some other commitments in the AM but I may come and watch just for fun.
