OFFICIAL EXIGE S PRICE ($56,990)-INFO JUST RELEASED!

Sorry for the caps, I actually think I may have info. which NO ONE ON ELISETALK HAS YET... yippeeee!~.. if not, flame me to death, I'm relatively immune to being scalded...

http://www.jalopnik.com/

http://www.leftlanenews.com/2006/09/...ng-to-america/

here it is...

Finally. Lotus is sending its top-shelf hooch to the US, in the form of a superchargerd Exige S. The company anounced today that the near-supercar Exige is coming to the states in the form of a 220-hp version (a 16-percent lift from the base model). The coupe, which weighs in at 2,077 pounds, can get from zero to 60 mph in 4.1 seconds (nearly a second faster than the base model) and to 100 mph in 11 seconds, under the command of a six-speed tranny. Top speed is 148 mph. The model also gets variable-revs cam switching, by way of its T4e engine control system. For you? $56,990. Operators are standing by.

Aah, I feel better now...

That is great news!!!!!! I wonder how many the US will see? Surprising it is only 220 Hp,( although the tuners should take care of that!)

Think it has something to do with the performance pack... the white one must have this so does not include the driving lights... at least i think this is why

For the US, the driving lights are a dealer-installed option.. just asked my dealer about this regarding my order.

Now if Lotus was/is really smart, they will install slightly larger than needed fuel injectors in the Exige S. Then a little later down the road come out with a stage upgrades. Stage 1 of course will be a catback exhaust system (and maybe a new intake, though the stock one is probably OK). This might give like 5-10 HP. The stage 2 will be a smaller pulley and an ECU reflash which will take advantage of the extra headroom left with the injectors. This can give 20-25 HP and cost around $1000 (including the reflash, but not installation costs for the pulley). Thats like $100 (max) costs for the pulley and $60-$100 for paying the dealer for time to do the reflash (30 minutes to hour tops). Makes us happy, and gives them some extra revenue.

Lotus is now working on pissing off the next group of customers ( Exige S ). Lotus has us all running to get the S before the dreded bumpers show up This will work again, the next model will have bumpers, will have more weight, but maybe a engine from BMW to make us all want what's after the S.............. Oh that's right that's their job

Isn't the MSRP for a current Exige around 53K? That means they are only increasing the price by 3,900 for the S...that seems low.
