Oil Catch Can?

So the other day I took off the intercooler pipes to get to the ECU for the gotham tune and noticed a smell of motor oil. I looked inside the pipes and low and behold, oil in the pipes. I thought perhaps, that an oil catch can would help this. Anyone else experience this issue?

What - you guys don't want to have to drain the intercooler when doing an oil change?

Not a very efficient oil cooler either.

I'd do it in my garage, maybe my driveway if I needed more room to work.

Superchargers will get blow by and when oil turns to sludge look out for the impellars.
Sector111 really should include a can and a pcv valve with the "Katana" kit.

Could someone diagram the plumbing? Do you just plug the MAF end and vent only to the can? Obviously this would alter the emission system, but could readily be converted back for inspections. Am I correct in assuming this would not foul up any ECU readings?

can

It is a very good idea for any car that has boost or gets track use.

You can simply just put 2 pcv valves in or 1 can and a pcv valve. 2 cans and it will be tough to fit so be warned.

In the picture circled in red are the 2 hoses. Follow them and they go to the TB. Just remove the hoses then put new hose on and stick the cans in the middle. That simple.
If you have a supercharger then put a can and a pcv valve in. If you are naturally aspirated just put a couple of valves in.

Pardon my ignorance, but what does an oil catch can do?

I did a search, but it seemed to take the word "oil" without the rest of it and returned about 1,000 results.

Oil Catch Tanks/cans collect the oil, moisture and blow-by gas that causes carbon and sludge build-up in the intake system and engine to keep them clean. A catch can is a good way to keep oil from being blown back into your intake manifold. The factory setup is just a loop of tubing to blow the oil into the intake. A catch can will catch this oil.

A catch can is a good way to keep oil from being blown back into your intake manifold. For forced induction applications, The vent hose that runs from the valve cover to the turbo inlet hose puts a lot of oily blow by into the intake tract and intercooler and piping. When oil builds up inside the intercooler, it drastically reduces the intercooler efficiency.
