Hi all,
My new CUP260 has been finally delivered today from Lipscomb Lotus in
Kent. The car is abosolutely stunning and the nice surprise is that now
Ohlins suspension are now fitted as standard.
On the few metres I moved the car in the courtyard, the gear selector fells more precise and less obstructive since from new than my previous Exige S
and the sterring feel lighter

Ya know, those 3 in the photo above at Newport European have never showed up on their website for sale - and they seem to be maintaing/updating their site since cars seem to be coming off there. Anyone know the story behind this - were these cars ever available or for sale?

Also - that white Italian CUP 260 has an unusual steering wheel cover.

Hi Viashus,
Yeah, it's surprise for me as well.: crazyeyes
Europan CUP cars were all fitted with the old Nardi wheel- no airbag.
THis is a Momo but with no airbag yet.
I' ve also noticed that manouvreing the car it' s easy to trigger the horn
button.
Today I'll give her a Swisswax coating (Arise DiffusionArise - Swisswax : kit complet à cartouches) and I' ll
go out for a shakedown

Hi all,
I' ve just back from my first spin on the hills (about 100 milles).
My first impression, compared with my previous 220S is a car better screwed
together and I dare say civilized. No rattles at all execpt a small one from the
extinguisher cover. Gearshift is slickier and more precise even now from new.
There is no steering wheel stutter at all, unlike all my previuos Lotuses.
Power delivery doesen' t seem not that much stronger than before but it's
morel linear and cleaner there is no more the sense of lag with throttle response probably even due to lightened flywheel.
The only disappointment is that having put it on the a farmer scale was
910 kilos, I was expecting less than 900, bearing in mind that is already fitted
with Stage 3 exh.- The 220S on the same scale was 920 kilos (both with
nearly full tank.

I still can't quite figure out your steering wheel. Underneath that center cover is the same steering wheel found on all 2009's. Even the logo in the center (unless it is the flash and an odd reflection causing it) looks almost like the old classic Lotus emblem (different green and font).

The 2010's that have been delivered don't have this kind of air bag center cover either.

Hi Vishus,
Mee too,
CUP 260 in Eu was fitted with the old Nardi whell- no airbag.
This Momo too has no airbag and it's also easy to trigger the horn when
manouvreing.
Do you know exactly the spark plug gaps? I found mine at 0,6 0,7 mm
I think this is too close since in the '07 manual for supercharged Exige
was 0,9 mm if I remember correctly.

Some one should snap this thing up...They ( Lotus ) won't be tuning the trusty 1.8 up to 260 HP again I am told by my rep !
Yeah, I remember picking up my 2006 Exige because I was assured by Lotus that the Exige S was never coming to the US because they couldn't get it to pass emissions... Oh, wait.

P.S.
I was forgetting to mention the Ohlins suspensions. The nice surprise
is that Lotus fitted it as standard.
With the factory settings the ride is very compliant, fells less crashy than
standard Eibach/koni on the 220S.
here are a few pics.

Hi,

from May on, several parts of the Cup cars were out of stock, and all Cup cars were put aside.
Delivery restarted beginning of July with 3 mods compared to pre May deliveries.
1) Other steering wheel
2) Ohlins suspension out of the box
3) The "cleaner engine" => CO² = 199 instead of 216 grams/km.

I took possesion of my Cup car 4 weeks ago, after a delivery period of almost 6 months where it should have been 4 months. So for me truying to find out what caused the delay was a weekly occupation.

Good luck with yours BTW,

Hi Pkt,
Yep I've just noticed on the COC file that CO2 is now 199 gr, I hope It
won't affect performance.
By the way I placed deposit for mine on early May and the car was finished
early July.
