Q: Is the HVAC controls backlit?
If it is then mine doesn't seem to be working. I swear that I've seen it lit at some stage...

'Recirculate' Is Very Dim
On my 2007 Elise, the lefthand button, to turn on AC, is a fairly bright blue LED that I can see even in fairly bright sunlight, with the top open. When the righthand button, for recirculate, is pressed the only time I can see the blue LED is when it's dark - it is very dim.

What?!? Seriously?!? While my a/c button and recirculate button have a light in them (kind of like the headlight buttons, but blue), the knobs and general face of the HVAC controls on my '07 have never been backlit. When it's dark out, it's a guessing game as to what temperature is set or where the air is going (e.g. foot, face, or defrost). Has this been broken since day 1?

Sorry to scam on your post, but i`ve had a question to a while, and never bothered to post...in the same backlit departement.
At night It`s very hard to see my guages ( speedo and tach ) there is a very faint glow, but thats it...everytime I check my speed it take a second or 2 for my eyes to focus, it`s very hard to see the numbers. do I have a burnt bulb or something? And i`ll have to check, but I don`t think my hvac has any light...except the ac botton ![]() |

I've noticed that my HVAC controls are lit MOST of the time. The other night they didn't come on with the rest of the dash lights until I turned on of the nobs. Then all was good

![]() My control panel is backlit. Always has been. The problem is that the knobs aren't backlit, which I know is how they were designed. I guess I just remembered what a hassle it is to adjust anything HVAC when it's nighttime. The hassle is not knowing where the dots on the knobs are when it's dark (I've found a workaround, BTW). Somehow, that translated into not being able to see anything. Again, my bad. I'm an idiot. -Brad
