Racing wheels

We just purchased a 2006 Lotus Cup Exige from Europe and need lightweight wheels to race with. The stock rims are 16x6.5 (31 offset) front and 17x7.5 (18 offset).

Our local Central America racing rules require the use of Hankook F200 racing slick tires in any of the following sizes: 205/50/15, 210/610R16, or 215/615R17.

What are the best light weight racing wheels to accommodate these tires on an Exige? Please send me all the details (weight, offset, pricing etc).

Thanks.

I would recommend VOLK RACING wheels CE28N, they are simply the lightest forged wheels you can get.

15x7 +28 4H100, around 11lbs Front
16x8 +35 4H100, around 13lbs Rear

Around US$1800/set, usually take 2-3 months to special order from RAYS of Japan.

You can find a very extensive line of wheels on our website. Click Here

The RACs are the lightest 16"/17" combo - and super sexy. Denag Racing is endurance racing an Exige in Japan and specially commissioned the BBS wheels we carry. Please also check out our new SJ Racing Cross wheels.

We have all of them in stock.

In terms of 4 Lug Racing wheels, can't think of anything better than VOLK RACING, their CE28N or TE37 are the best.

Note: Your stock rears are 38mm offset not 18mm

I have the CE28s in those sizes and the fronts weighed in at 9.3lbs, rears were 12.5.

Shops in the States rarely stock these wheels, especially in our sizes. The usual wait is about 3 months.
If you don't want to wait that long, goto www.takakaira.com and then use inquiry form for the parts. They will respond within 24hrs with price and availablity. Once you confirm teh order with them. You will get the parts deliver to your door in about 5 days . Yes 5 days. However, the shipping might be about $500 or so.
Good luck.

If RAYS does not have these wheels instock, no one can get those to you within 5 days, RAYS japan usually does not keep these wheels in stock, the wheel sizes Elise use is very uncommon and no manufacturer would stock them unless they are emphasis on the Elise market which I don't think any one does currently.

You might be right. But its worth a try. 2 years ago, I order my CE28s from Takakaira for my MR-S. The MR-S also has odd sizes like the Elise. But Volk Japan had them instock. They were 16x7 and 16x8 +ET42. Got them from Japan in 5 days! Just give them a shot. You might get lucky.

I miss those wheels BTW

MR-S is a Japanese car and it is more popular in Japan than in here, and 16x7 +42 4H100 is basically Civic/Integra fitment, so, I am not surprise RAYS keep them in stock.

But for Elise.......... i highly doubt they have anything in stock.

These sizes are very rare and no one would stock it at all. So, 2-3 months of wait if common.

Mackin Industries is the Exclusive Importer of these wheels, check their site out.
http://www.mackinindustries.com/md/rays/ce28n.html

I think the picture on MLK_F1 MR-S is the best representation of the wheel, Elise uses 4H100, so, the CE28N will be in 8 spokes instead of 10 spokes on the 5-lug wheels.

They quoted me 60 - 90 days of waiting, I was actually very happy when I got them after 3 and a half months...
