Really Light Stuff - Supercharger Pulleys

Since the other thread has been deleted, I will be recreating the thread here. Pardon the work in progress...

RLS Supercharger Overdrive Pulleys

Available in 3.1", 3.0", 2.9", and 2.8" diameters.

We recommend engine tuning for anything beyond the 3.1" pulley. Make sure you have a wideband AFR to keep an eye on things.

$98 plus shipping.

Stock on '07 Exige S is 3.28".

My car already had an RLS Intercooler when I switched form 3.28" to 3.1". There was about a 0.5 psi increase in boost, about 14 HP. The dyno is posted on LT in one of the intercooler threads. The intercooler was about a 14 HP increase over the stock intercooler, and the pulley was another 12 HP on top of that. These #'s are from memory, I'll try to find the dyno in the other thread and link to it.

I have not dyno'd stock intercooler + 3.1" pulle.

Stock 2007 Exige S, plus RLS Intercooler: +6.5% horsepower gain. Stock 2007 Exige S, plus RLS Intercooler, plus RLS 3.1" Pully: +14.5% horsepower total.

Yes, it was noticeable. Enough to make me smile.

Less than an hour, I can do one easily now in 45 minutes.

Jack car
Remove RR wheel and liner
Remove pulley bolt (note remove bolt before belt or it will turn the shaft)
Pry tensioner and slide belt off pulley
Remove/replace pulley (will take a few extra minutes with a stock as it's on tight)
Reverse order.

I have used Thomasio's 3.1 and 3.0 on the 240...they are good quality and a substantial rotational mass savings.

Haha! Probably not on your first time though

Hell it took me longer then that just to figure out how the tensioner worked! But now that I know how everything works, ya you can change a belt out in like 15-20 minutes....taking the wheel off & on probably takes most of the time.

You can do it without removing the wheel & liner. I always use a helper to put torque on the tensioner to loosen the belt. BE CAUTIOUS here... if you strip the six point hex casting on the tensioner, you are in for trouble.

So, I should have 270hp with RLS cooler + 3.1" pulley?

Without ECU retune?

The original Exige S does fine with the 3.1" without a tune, and there are people running the 3.1" on the S 240 without a tune. I recommend carefully monitoring your wideband AFR to make sure you aren't getting into trouble.

It is easy enough for you to try the 3.1" and dyno it...

Over the last couple of weeks certain pulleys were out of stock, but 2.8", 2.9", 3.0", and 3.1" pulleys are all back in stock now.

what is the diameter of the VF2 SC kit pulley?
-Robert

Do you know the weight saving between the oem mp62 steel pulley and rls if we say the size is 3.0?

Argh, it was in the original thread that got "lost." I think it was on the order of 2/3 lb, but it could have been less.
